in fairness to him, he's only been with SA for the last two (?) seasons ... and he's probably done it the hard way in shield cricket given the wickets around the country have been fairly bowler friendly for the last few years until this year .. but the likes of Flintoff, Steyn and even Chris Martin from NZ figured him out pretty quickly at the top level ... he gets dismissed in very similar fashion - feeding the slips / gully - that's the big black mark against him and it's largely because of his funky technique
How does he survive in shield cricket with a funky technique. Would be the best 1st class comp in the world. In my opinion his problems are mental. Mostly shot selection at the highest level. That is why I believe we have not seen the last of him at test level.

Australia can wrap this up tomorrow. If they bat until lunch they could be over 300 runs in front. Clarke can declare and give Johnson and co two sessions to bowl them out. England are not in this contest either physically or mentally. To be any chance at all, they need to adjust their lineup and then maybe salvage some pride.

Bat till we're all out . Give the bowlers a bit more time . Leave England in the field as long as possible. Let the pitch deteriorate more. Still 3 days left

We are already 311 runs in front

Against stronger opposition, absolutely Socnorb. England look tired already and anywhere between 3 and 400 runs should be enough on this pitch.

All that goes out the window though if England get a few quick wickets in the morning.

England apart from a flurry from Broad didn't have any clue when they were batting and our bowlers were dominating them easily. If we can score another 100 or so runs the poms will have a hell of a time trying to chase a target of 400/450 down on this pitch and considering their mental state.

Highest chase at the scg is 288, another quick hundred to make us 400-450 in front, we can wrap this up by stumps.

Yeah I agree. I don't think it'll make any difference to the result. I just enjoy beating up the poms.

5-0

What a brilliant achievement by the Australians. Say what you will about the Poms, they certainly have their share of problems but nobody saw this coming.

Lehman has restored the culture of the Australian side, giving them the belief that has often eluded them and given them the confidence to step up even when times are looking grim. While there were plenty of heroic moments through out the series, I feel like the genuine superstars through out were our bowlers, in particular Johnson.

I've seen people try and downplay his performance elsewhere, but I feel like it was his style of bowling that intimidated the Poms and threw them off. Johnson got inside the head of the Poms and I don't know what it was, but the Poms just weren't ready to take charge.

Very proud to be an Australian right now.

Simply unbelievable, if someone backed Australia to win 5-0 before the series they would've been laughed at. England have had a lot of problems but it doesn't matter to me at all, smacking a Pommy arse is one of the most satisfying feelings you can get.

Under the southern cross I stand, a spring of wattle in my hand. A native of my native land.

SO PROUD TO BE AUSTRALIAN

I'll tell you what though, that Stokes lad is going to be a star. Seems to have the right temperament about him too - the only Pom who showed any fight really.

This whitewash imo was a lot more convincing than the 2006/07 series. In that series the 1st Test was the only 1 where we where in complete control of from start to finish while England did get themselves into good positions in the other tests. They were annihilated in every test this time and beside from the first day at the Gabba never held an advantage at any time.
