Banned probably

Yep ... Found a post from him .... That would explain why no big scene when he left.

So what happened to AP???

Normally we'd shift a post like this into Staff Chat so we can give it the proper response but for the sake of transparency I'll answer it here.

AP was permanently banned for repeated infringements. He had been a pest for a long time and had made it evidently clear that he had no intention to make a positive contribution on here, just to stir people up and waste people's time. Too many members who were otherwise well behaved were getting into trouble because of him and considering how long he had been an issue here, he left us with no other choice.

Personally, I think it's a shame. Behind the veil of trolling, he could actually raise a decent point or two which could generate quality discussion. Unfortunately he got too caught up in trolling other members.

We don't want members to feel like they can't have or share their own unique opinions on here. It's a discussion board after all and personally I think it's fantastic that people can consider both sides of a particular topic. However, it's all about how you express yourself and if you're doing it in a way where you're trying to impact on the enjoyment of others, we'll nip it in the bud real fast.

If there are any questions feel free to open up a thread in Staff Chat, otherwise you can contact a staff member and I'm sure they'll be happy to answer questions. Otherwise, for all intents and purposes, the AP discussion is over.

No issues here, BP more in the line of idle curiousity on my part.

there is a god !!!!just kidding

The Courier Mail has revealed another change to the club under Bennett, with Wayne scrapping a controversial disciplinary fine system.

According to details, the system was put in place under the watch of Anthony Griffin and administered by him and members of his staff for actions like wearing the wrong uniform and being overweight.

Instead of fining players, Wayne simply doesn't select them.

The CM reports that this system is responsible for the departures of Gagai, Lui and left a lot of players feeling miserable as there wasn't any sort of way to appeal the decision.

The story also revealed that the players feel like they're under more pressure to perform since there is more depth at the club.

Damn, even Griffin's legacy has been swept out the door

I struggle with the idea that Griffin fined players for being overweight... surely the writer meant under-weight

I could imagine Griffin having simultaneous strength targets as well as weight targets, so they'd need to bulk up to hit the strength targets but not get too heavy, hence the skin folds etc. IIRC, if you start to go below a certain level of body fat % it can severely compromise your health, but more importantly to the game, your ability to recover etc. Maybe that's why our players looked strong and lean (in body fat %, not including Thaiday and Hannant of course) but would dramatically taper off when under fatigue?

Bennett has fined players before plenty of times so it's not "Griffin's system." Hannant was one of the worst offenders and got pinged over 10k last year.

Bennett has fined players for gear and wearing thongs.

Not saying it's right or wrong, every club has some 'punishment' system. But fines are certainly not Hook's creation and he certainly isn't on his own.

So Bennett abolished his own system?

No, he wrote Bennett abolished A system. I'd imagine there are many variations on a theme but the central thrust is that all clubs have a disciplinary system with regards to fitness, appearance and general conduct. WB has his own as does all the others. I cannot see where there could be any misunderstanding.

1910 said that bennett has fined players which seems to be contrary to what the article suggests. That is why my question was directed towards 1910

Not sure it can be yours when you haven't worked there for seven years.

I'm just saying if the intention was Bennett is against fines; that's not right. He went through a phase where he fined players in his first stint for simple errors during games.

In his last stint at the Broncos? Or are you referring to recently..

I am not courting controversy I am just saying if the intention of the article was as simple as- Hook pro fines and Bennett anti fines. Then they're wrong.

First stint at the Broncos I meant.

Could be several reasons for Bennett getting rid of fining players but having done it in the past. Maybe this group following on from a 'school teacher' coach in Hook doesn't need that. There are still plenty of rules at Red Hill- No thongs, no phones, no stupid hair cuts.

So that's why Gavet and Garbutt had hair cuts..
