What's hoggers run percentage compared to others. Must be close to 35-40%! Bet you that's double most halves. At least.

I'm going to research Bennett's past few seasons, see if I can pick up any patterns and see if I can use that with our squad. Currently my hypothesis is that Bennett basically took the same gameplan he had at St. George Illawarra and tried using it for the Knights.

Surely the real question is what does he do about goal kicking? He loves a penalty goal but not much use if Parker is attempting them.

The closest 5/8 to Hoffman (41%) would be Ben Hampton at 25%, followed by Josh Reynolds (known as a good ball runner) at 20%, while most 5/8's hover around the 10% mark, but don't go over 15%.

People keep carrying on about how Boyd wasn't getting paid, and I've left it because I figure you guys are just spouting out shit uve heard from a mate etc, basically Chinese whispers from someone u know reading the news.

lets clear this up. Boyd was getting paid his contractual salary from the club. What he hadn't received was his payments from a 3rd party agreement. Massive difference. He was getting paid, just not ALL of it.

Most people already knew that. Still, I heard it was in the vicinity of $200k. That might be anywhere from a quarter to a third of his income.

And going by the news reports the person not paying the third patty agreement was none other than Nathan Tinkler, who made up for the $200k shortfall by sending abusive text messages and telling Boyd he was going to be traded to another club.
If your company's owner was stiffing you of a good portion of your salary while abusing you via sms and threatening to sell you to a competitor would that impact on your performance at work?

IIRC it was a local business. One of the many that Tinkler bullshitted to. When he swept in, he promised a lot of things to a lot of businesses, and these guys in turn were happy to contribute via 3rd party deals. When Tinkler stopped paying his bills, that's when these 3rd party deals fell through. And you can't blame them.

I don't think a third party payment from the club's owner would be allowed by the NRL as it's hardly an independent arrangement. Possibly the payment was guaranteed under Boyd's contract?
In any case, whatever the minor surface details, I think everyone can agree Tinkler was a stupid fat dick who was a shit boss and at the very least his financial shenanigans would not have helped the players' motivation.

Tinkler's personal assets would be well protected.

I wonder if it's outside salary cap rules to get a personal guarantee from the club for any third party deals that fall through.

i.e. Tinkler/his companies fail to pay, Knights pay.

AFAIK that's what the Broncos are being investigated for. Any third party which is guaranteed by the club is the same as the club directly paying the player and must be counted against the salary cap.

I really don't see Bennett bringing Mamo. He is under contract for next season and is from down that way. The only younger players I see Bennett bringing back are the young Queenslanders he signed while down there. Bennett knows the Broncos bring through enough of their own young players to be stealing the Knights ones. I don't think Bennett will want to be seen as the coach who took a lot of young Knights guns with him when he left.

It's incredibly frustrating watching all the other quality teams go up another gear at this stage in the season only for the Broncos to actually go down one or two.

Don't expect that to change in the next 3 years, that's long been a hallmark of Bennett coached teams. Hoe they play in week 6 is how they play in week 26. Can get them to the top of the ladder by origin, then bottom of the 8 come end of regular season when all the other teams start their run for the finals.

Definitely a hallmark of Bennett teams. That slipping down a few gears really helped win those premierships...
