Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

I am still of the belief that if Barba slims down and the game plan is changed slightly that he could excel at fullback. I am also of the belief that Milford has the better passing and kicking game, being more suited to 5/8 than Barba is. Although Barba has being pretty well at 5/8.

The reason i think Milford to fullback (Barba to 6) is the best option at this stage, is that Milford can still chime into the backline and use his passing and kicking game, but he currently has the far superior running game, and IMO keeping him at fullback, would give him more space to utilise it.

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

I am not sure what Wayne's plans are but I will be pretty disappointed if he comes in with a broom. I think it is pretty clear this team can compete with top 4 sides with some tweaking and maybe the odd inclusion of players.

This.

Re: Round 21 - Broncos vs Sea Eagles - Pre-Match Discussion

Stick to the topic Foordy, your dogged defence of possibly the worst first grade coach in history is growing tiresome.

FFS, how many times do i have to say it ... but i'll say it again for the STUPID PEOPLE.

I DO NOT WANT ANTHONY GRIFFIN TO BE THE FUCKING COACH OF THE BRISBANE BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

clear enough for you ...

If Hodges retires, it will help us alot. But the depth of our squad next year will just do us good.

1. Barba
2. Vidot
3. Copley
4. Hoffman
5. Kahu/Maranta/Reed
6. Milford
7. Hunt
8. McGuire
9. McCullough
10. Hannant
11. Thaiday
12. Gillett
13. Parker

14. Glenn
15. Molo
16. Oates
17. Hala/Dodds/Kennedy/Garbutt/Lowrie/Wallace

Other young guns to keep an eye out on:

- Ajuma Adams
- Cameron Cullen
- Joe Ofahenegue
- Nikorima Brothers
- Duncan Paia'Aua

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

and Hodges retiring wouldn't help us. I definitely want him going around again in 2015

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

I think Bennet might let go Kennedy, if so this will free up cap space and hopefully give Molo and Garbutt a chance to cement themselves a regular first grade spot.

He can't just "let" him go.. it's an enormous process and an enormous pain in the ass to release a player who's mid-contract on a high paying deal, the first problem would be finding someone to take the big log, and even then we'll have to pay half his salary or something.

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

I sometimes question people motifs on here with regards to being good to watch over winning games. I would rather watch my team grind out wins the old fashion way then be on the end of losses even if they really attacked well and looked "flashy". Winning is what counts to me and I don't care how it gets done but I just want it done. I think a lot of people here have written Boyd off as a fullback. Just look back a couple of years ago to see that he was an integral player for the dragons in their premiership run. Trust me when I say this, in our current attack structure, he will fit in perfectly if Bennett brings him back to the club. Lets not forget, he is used to running off our patented backline movement.

motif: recurring event/theme/object used in filmography is often of an allegorical or metaphorical nature.
motive: [in this context] the end goal someone is trying to achieve by driving certain change. The reason behind driving for said change.

you believe forum members just want to watch entertaining football and that this desire is removed from winning games whereas you would like it to improve our chances of winning games but winning games is the primary motive.

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

How would Hodges retiring help us alot? Just because he's getting older it doesn't make the young guys automatically better. He's still easily one of the best players in our team. Now retiring from rep football would definitely help us.

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

Hodges should be old enough to start realising his own limits. His running game isn't as good as it used to be, especially from dummy half. His passing and vision have been improving dramatically with age though. He should be looking at using those skills to work more on making opportunities for your winger rather than himself, sort of like Lyon does for Manly.

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Broncos signed Milford to be their 5/8. Isn't that why he is going to be mentored by Lockyer?

I don't know why people keep naming him at fullback..

He was signed by Griffin to play 5/8 ... but Griffin is not the coach next year. besides he can still be mentored by Lockyer at fullback. Locky was the best fullback in the world, before he became the best 5/8 in the world.

Re: Wayne Bennet's 2015 Team Line Up

1000 monkeys on 1000 typewriters....

So many variables between now and 1 March 2015... Bennett might even get a sniff of the Brisbane media in pre-season, get jack of that and walk off into the sunset leaving us all high and dry.

Getting more and more concerned about 2015.
