Just finished watching Japan v Denmark. Man Japan have been impressive at this tournament and both they and South Korea have thoroughly deserved to advance. Japan were so well organised today plus the flair of Honda and Endo makes them a threat going forward at all times. Honda should be playing for a really big club very soon, his performance today was incredible and his assist for the third Japan goal showed just how classy the guy is. Considering our hard group and good showing in almost escaping from it with two great performances and the performances of Korea and Japan it is safe to say Asian football is really on the cusp of really big things.

+1. I think it's fantastic for the game that Korea and Japan are going places.

It's only a matter of time before the Asian region starts to produce some real superstars IMO.

There is an absolutely massive population there, it's just about developing players and giving them a path to reach a professional level.

Look at the crowds for J and K League, they are fanatical just like in Europe now so it is only a matter of time until the kids get old enough.

Portugal/Brazil has been a pretty spiteful match, thus far.

Horrid game. You know Dunga is shit when Fabiano is lead striker. Nilmar did ok though. I still can't believe Pato wasn't called up.

Yes, Holman's was technically better.

Villa had an empty net to aim at.

Iniesta's was better than both of them, beautifully worked team goal with a cool finish.

Feel sorry for the Chile player that got sent off, was a tough call by Cahill's buddy (that Mexican ref) but it was a tough one for him to with the guy already on a yellow and there was definitely contact but from his view it would have been hard to determine whether it was accidental which on replays it clearly was. On Torres, he was pretty horrid again today and still seems miles off the pace. Will be interesting to see if Del Bosque persists with him starting or looks at bringing in Silva/Navas/Pedro into a starting role with Torres making a later cameo because he doesn't look nearly fit enough to go close to 90 minutes.

Iniesta's goal was all Villa's drawing in the defender, smart feet work there.

Holman's goal was pretty badass, but Villa's was simply well struck.

I think he's trying to give him a bit of time in the group matches, so he'll be up to the pace when the bigger, knockout matches come around.

Torres can look horrible all match, do nothing, and then pull off some absolute brilliance in the dying minutes.
