I hope they don't get sacked to be honest. But I want 12 month alcohol bans, banned from Alhambra lounge, and warned that even so much as sneezing in public will have their contracts torn up and deregistration from the NRL.
They have brought the game and the club into disrepute. There is NO doubt about that.

But I kept a low profile and walked around just listening in on peoples conversations. Yes yes I know BUT about 80% of them where talking about the Broncos and what happened and not to many of the talks where in favor of the club or players.
And no I didn't win the 5 star trip to the Grand Final. [icon_thumbs_do

Realistically how may times do you hear Gaz and the phone or Laffranchi and his incident come up in general conversation when talking about the footy - I hate the Bulldogs but honestly the Coffs Harbour thing barely rates a mention these days unless you are at the game yelling abuse at them. It's instances like these that see all of these old issues bubble to the surface for another 15 minutes of fame.
It is a frenzy at the moment because no-one knows the truth - is everyone going to apologise to the players involved if it is decided they have no criminal case to answer? If handled in an appropriate manner there is no reason why the image of the Broncos has to suffer any long term damage.
COMPOUND FRACTURE said:I remember a few years ago the Dogs had some players accused (but not proven guilty ) of sexual indescretions. When they played in Brisbane , Coxy and co abused them from the sidelines calling them rapists and other hideous insults. I still have the transcripts of Coxys insults...he supplied them himself on this forum...freely admitting he called them the worst names possible even though nothing was proven, then or later.
Strange how his views have changed...another one Coxy got wrong but would never admit too.
If you read this before I'm banned for bringing up this disgraceful slice of history please remember that the only people who are permitted to be wrong are the non-admin...Coxy is never wrong because he simply picks up his bat and ball and runs home...I guess this will be my last post because I suspect I will never be allowed back on.
Coxy. to be remembered and thought of as fair and reasonable you have to be just that. It takes courage to be wrong and admit error...I pointed out at the time that it was wrong but who listens to an old man ?
mick! said:I don't particularly respect many players off the field anyway. Webcke, Petero, Hannant have been notable exceptions.
Finding out your idol's or heroes are human and partake in behaviour that you personnally would find deplorable, is like a child finding out there is no Santa Claus.
Coxy said:Fans see football almost like a fantasy, a way to take them away from reality and into a different world where your heroes are virtuous and immortal. It's so much harder to have the same passion and enthusiasm when you know they get up to shit like this in their own time.
Which is why it's better to know as little as possible about the men, but rather focus on the bloke in the jersey.
Coxy said:And the best way for that to be possible is for the players to keep their private lives guarded.
And the best way for them to do that is to not act like a dickhead in public.
