credit yes, but he didnt set them up, and it would not have been hard to have a different player fill his role in the play.

And its the same with Slater. Right place right time anyone with decent speed would be able to hit holes like him. Anyone told by Smith "oi wait over there ill flick ya the ball" would also be able to finish the tries slater gets. The only player at the storm even close to having real skill is Inglis. the rest are just a small piece of a bigger picture.

Hmm I dunno, even I have to admit Slater is good at reading the play and pops up at the right time. That could be a lot of good coaching, but I tend to think he reads the play pretty well himself.

Sometimes he has brain snaps of course, and occasionally his lack of passing skill is shown up with bullet passes to the touch judge, but still you can't deny his overall attacking quality.

In Another team Slater wouldnt find those holes. because the fowards and halves wouldnt be directing the defence so well. Cronk and Smith are awesome at being able to control the other sides defence. If they want you to shift left they will make you shift left.

You could say that about 90% of successful teams.

You don't think Jarryd Hayne attacks the weaker defensive side, made weaker by the rest of his team (Mortimer etc) directing the attack that way?

I know there's a (quite deserved) dislike for the overhyping of Biley (sic) Slater, but don't undersell him.

For me its more i dont think there is daylight between him and other fullbacks. AP shows no respect at all to other fullbacks and their style of plays. Slater isnt the be all end all like he makes out everytime he post.

The awesome thing about most people on this site if they will see both sides they will accept both opinions but when it comes to fullback talk Ap just doesnt budge or show a respect for other players.

Every fullback has something about their game that no other fullback can come close to doing.

Oh I agree, his jizzing over Slater is nearly as irritating as those here who write him off just to spite him.

sure hes not the be all and end all - but he is the best fullback in the game, and has been for at least 3 seasons consecutively.

if you had read my other posts about fullbacks, youd see that i think there are lots of great fullbacks running around. its just that slater is the best, no doubt about it, and i did not rate Hunt in the top 5 or 6. On here ive said many times that i think Patten is a great fullback and its a shame he never got to play for NSW, and that Matt Bowen is/was great, same with half the other fullbacks in the league.

but it doesnt change the fact that Slater is the best one there is ;)

Slater best fullback for NZ ;)

Can we agree that Slater is an alright fullback that can throw cut out passes that hit the touchie on the chest?

yet still im pretty sure that piece of wood setup more tries then Slater...

got any facts to back that up?

we dont need a fullback to be a playmaker, we need a fullback to be a fullback. Slater is the best going around, daylight is second. lets not get into this again anyway.

I voted Kemp, but Beale or Hoffman would be fine with me. as long as fullbacks not lockyer, and we have enough people to keep michaels out of the team, im happy.

We have been down this road and over the last few years at the very least Slater has set up more line breaks and tries than Hunt has, I couldn't be bothered digging up the numbers again but I have on at least one occasion on this forum.

Stats clearly show Hunt is the more superior Fullback and player. Tackle percentage, passing accuracy and even tries stopped all fall in Hunt's favor.

shhhh lets end this and keep on topic :P

ROFL! Stats

Coxy loves stats, give him more! MORE!

Statistics clearly show that the stats claiming Hunt is a better player are statistically correct!

Statistics clearly show that statistics are statisical in nature and only bring out the statistics in them. 95 percent of statistics agree!

Oh, people can come up with statistics to prove anything. 14% of people know that.
