Why would Kemp get the Broncos fullback position when he struggled to make the Warriors NSW Cup team, who I must say finished last!!

because His at home at the Broncos. He feels "safe" he is used to the players around him (lockyer/Wallace).

Kemp is a winger and a proven excellent finisher, I don't get this urge most of you have to see him at the back. Hoffman will be one of the top fullbacks in years to come.

For me it's a number of reasons. Kemp is a known quantity to me, while I can't remember seeing Hoffman play. If I recall correctly Kemp played a bit of fullback for us in 08, and he's now in his third year of first grade, meaning he should be used to the pace, style and defence of the NRL by now. I think he has the edge on the Hoff as a result.
Also, I just plain love Kemp, and in a situation where we have a number of inseparable candidates, I'll always back my favourite.

That doesn't mean much really, just because he came back to the Broncos doesn't ensure him of making a successful return to the NRL, he has to work to get back to where he was it won't just appear because Lockyer and Wallace are around him.

May not just "appear" but being back in a club where he feels at home will help him return to form.

And the thing he has above Hoffman and co is indeed his combination with Lockyer

Yeah, he showed great combination with Lockyer last season...

Hoffman has been training with Lockyer for a year. Kemp's been away. Sure, he might just pick up where he left off in 2008, but it might take time too.

Will be very interesting Round 1 line up regardless.

Exactly - and I'm assuming Hoffman would be training as No.1 ? Catching bombs and defusing situations and what not. Kemp would probably need a little bit of an adjustment because he played winger for two seasons - albeit shouldn't take too long.

I'm worried about defusing kicks... esp bombs because we've had the stability of Hunt in that area for so long now... No doubt teams will test our FB no matter who it is. We'll need to gain confidence in this area IMO.

Do you guys give any of the QRL Cup recruits a chance of taking the fullback spot??

Kemp only because hes experienced but if he dosent deliver in the early round Hoffman comes straight in :)

Well 50 is about 2 full seasons of first grade, so therefore they have played as a rookie and then come through a second/third season.

How big would a magnified yard glass be? Woo!

Why? Where did you pull the number from?

From the part of my brain that uses common sense and rugby league knowledge to make form an informed opinion.

When you've played 50 games more than your rival and you were trying to justify why you should take the fullback position over someone else, you could probably use the word "experience" if you had 50 first grade games under your belt and your rival had 6.

It's just a rough sort of figure, so stop going over it with a magnified glass.

Well Kemp has played 38 games and Hoffman has played 6. So to say that Kemp is more experienced than Hoffman is completely factual.

Kemp Would've played no more than 6 games at full back though.
