NEWS Why Haas Rejected 6m Offer

Well there's an interesting point, did Australia ever actually do this or was it always the other way?
Yes. Some convicts returned to England, but going back was even worse punishment than being in prison. Jokes aside, the fatality rate on those ships was staggering.

I’d be happy send out a memo to all clubs to offer a spine player and to whomever has the best offer we will grant Payne a release.
So tell the rorters they can let Sam come home? :P

Nek Minut we are getting offers of Brooks, Drinkwater, Harris-Tevita, Fien, short-term Brandon Smith deal, Lam, Egan, Flanagan. No thanks.

TBF to Brent Read, he is an unabashed Broncos supporter and did raise very valid points in that story of his today about the club losing its way in recent years with culture and certain players being given far too much leniency.

Read grew up in Goodna and his first job was the Ipswich paper. He's pretty loyal to that with his support.

Would rather Manu. Walker is still really raw and I think he’d fail at our club a la Dearden, Coates, Cobbo.
yep, I'd feel guilty bringing in any more promising young talents until we have a football environment that won't poison them.

Former Broncos captain Corey Parker believes Payne Haas’s decision whether or not to leave the club will be an easy one judging on Broncos poor form over the past 3 years, believing that the Roosters holds the key to his personal development and chances at premiership glory.

Parker's had a game of golf with Uncle Nick it seems

Parker’s a fuckwit. Ever since he was told he wasn’t required in the assistant role he’s carried on like a sook. He probably makes a point but this is not the sort of statement a great clubman should be publicly making.

Notice how no one in the media ever even question how the roosters could possibly afford him? It’s just accepted as a fait accompli.

How has the narrative become ‘wouldn’t it be wonderful if he played at the roosters’, like some kind of whacky sports altruism for a club that buys success with a seemingly endless salary cap.

Would a former Melbourne player ever say shit like that? I've also noticed Parker is a complete **** in interviews post match with Kev.

He looks like the next Tallis.

We are on a hiding to nothing with this whole thing, much like the Fifita one. We re-sign him and they bag us for paying soo much for a prop. We don’t re-sign him and it’s “how could they lose him?” “Brisbane never use to lose players they wanted to keep”, blah blah blah.

His wife on triple M Is just as bad but forgets the fancy house she lives in and the fancy car she drives is because of the Broncos

Nah he's just been sacked from the coaching staff a couple times now and is pissy about it... plus he wants to join Wayne so he's showing him that he can sink the boot in

The current Broncos are about as far from the club that made most of us support them in the first place as you can get. Broncos in name and location only, and its hard to see a way out at the moment. Maybe Parker is just disgusted at how it only took a few years to get to this stage after he retired.
