State of Origin - Game II - Post Match Discussion

Is it just me or was Rabs' call one of the most bias calls in Origin history?

Always mentioned the Maroons dirty tactics but never a peep about the Blues. Gus and him always seemed to be calling from a Blues perspective.

How difficult would it be to have an option for Queensland fans to listen to their own call?

Like back in the 80's when Qld had their own commentary team of Alan Thomas and Mick Veivers.
Pretty hard to listen to Ray Warren and Gould, they shit me to tears

C'mon dude it's nothing like Vautins commentary from the early 90's with him cheering for QLD and questioning every call that goes against them. Bias works both ways

And that was fine because it balanced the commentary team.

Now our lone representative is Lewis the diplomat.

He has always been bias. (Though he was subtle about it.)

Just the past few years he has gotten worse.

I think he is losing his mind & forgets to be subtle.

I also thought Slater's little elbow was a reaction Pearce coming in with a swinging arm when Slater was on the ground. Did anyone else spot that or am I imagining it?

I caught that as well. Pearce came in with a swinging arm. I thought he hit Slater high. I was filthy last night that it was overlooked. Watching the replay this morning there wasn't much in it. A bit of ill-discipline from Slater, he should've played on.

The commentators were watching most of the game with their eyes closed. They were missing things even on fucking replay.

What did everyone make of the call against Hoffman for a knock-on early in the game in a gang tackle both me and my dad thought it was stripped.

It was a strip.

But then Hoffman was allowed to stick his foot in the play the ball later on and caused Hodges to make a sloppy play the ball.

Looked like a strip to me as well.

Thought that was a strip myself to be honest but that can happen in any game of the year really.

Yeah, it looked like a strip, but much like the situation that led to NSW's first try in game one, it's a 50-50 call that went wrong, but is an acceptable error.

The 10 meters and ruck were much better policed, although they are whining about it south of the border (what else is new from Freddy "Derp-derp" Fittler?). Perhaps they expected to continue to have to do 2 or more meters less per tackle like in game one, and found that on equal foot, they were thoroughly outplayed.

As far as refereeing is concerned, only that sin-binning spree was plain stupid, and Klein was once again a coward ensuring both teams got the same amount of players sent.

Just watching the replay now and geez I hope they stick with Reynolds for game 3, his service was slow and he was a speed bump at best in defence. I've also just noticed how much a grub this fuckwit is as well; trying to stamp on peoples ankles when there making a tackle and dropping knees onto there legs when they are tackled.

Meanwhile, NSW assistant coach Brad Fittler today slammed whistleblowers Shayne Hayne and Ashley Klein over their performances.

"I've got to say, the referees could not get Queensland back on side. They refused to penalise them,'' he told Sky Sports Radio.

"I was standing behind the line and there was a lot of talk during the week (where) Queensland spoke about our markers being askew.

"I think we got penalised leading into the first try for that.

"I don't think Queensland were penalised all night for their offside.

"It would have been quite frustrating when you've got a lack of energy from fatigue and the other side is just rushing (off the line in defence).''

"We were aware that we weren't going to get 50-50 (calls), that's just the nature of the beast,'' he said.

"That's why it's tough up here - they're always going to go with (the home team).''

What a deadset muppet.
Pretty good player, even better whinger

Thing is we did get penalised for being inside the 10

Holy ****! I mean I know that the tele is pretty ridiculous at the best of times but seriously how is Paul crawley a journalist? Not only are his opinions simply wrong, but his opinion is so fucking biased he says 'we' instead of NSW. To top it all off his journalistic writing style is akin to a 12 year old. Honestly, who says "get this" in this style of writing, I'm surprised he didn't use SMS language

Both sides complain about the referee's performance when they lose it's nothing new.
