Our forward pack is amazingly over-rated.

By whom? I think it's pretty much common knowledge at this point that McGuire & Parker are the only 2 forwards we have that can make 100 metres every week. (And they aren't setting the world on fire honestly, they barely crack 100 metres some weeks, meanwhile other teams have forwards who get 140+ week in week out)

It's gonna get a whole lot worse next season unless we recruit well or some of these young guys take a massive leap, similar to what Jake Trbojevic did.

I would like us to buy a quality centre and move Kahu to the wing and maybe pick up a depth signing or two but I don't think making wholesale changes to the playing roster is the answer. We know these guys can play but a massive change in attitude is required. The old saying defence is about attitude is true and some of the tries that have been scored against us lately have been embarrassing and show just how bad their attitude is at the moment. The saying applies just as well to attack too. The reason our forwards aren't making ground isn't because they are too little to play with the big guys it's because they aren't running with the aggression and intensity that is required. They aren't playing smart and looking for offloads and even if they were there is rarely anyone there to take them. It's the same with our halves. The amount of times Milford gets tackled with the ball is ridiculous. Unless it is a set play he is going to the line with either no support or at least no effective support. If there is nobody moving off the ball and putting doubt in the defenders minds then even a great ball runner like Milford is easy meat. He is basically doing hit ups because his teammates are too lazy to go with him and that's disgraceful. I know it's the modern age and you aren't allowed to give gen y a kick up the arse even when they deserve it but at the very least Wayne should have taken their Playstations off them after the Storm game and taken their phones after that effort against the Panthers. When they decide to start playing like men instead of boys maybe they can earn them back.

I like this... Also a lot of the time the defence is already set by the time Milf gets his hands on the ball and he either tries to go himself or we half spread it with some sort of hail Mary s*** and wind up going backwards. Need short passes at the line to a hard runner running a nice line and find a quick play the ball... Get the defence back peddling with Milf or Hunt running the ball. We don't have the big pack but we don't need it to play an up tempo style of footy.

Would rather buy another quality prop before a centre. Centres cant do anything if they are ball playing from their own 20 all the time and regardless of how much talent these kids have (which is what they are), they aren't ready for week in week out NRL football and big minutes that comes with it.

It doesn't help that our forward pack got chosen to play origin, the minute we get a good or semi-decent forward they get selected to play Origin, then they are expected to back up and play when they are bruised and battered. I know it's only 1 of many reasons the guys are playing like rubbish, but it's a darn good one.
We definitely need one more big guy like Blair, because our forwards are small the Origin battering really takes it out of them.

But apart from Lazo, Tallis & to a lesser extent Blair, when has buying a forward ever worked for us? Joel Clinton, Ashton Sims, Martin Kennedy, all major busts. We need to build our own.

We also need a new Tonie Carroll, Matt Gillett is a pale imitation of the hitman.

Gillmeister, Howard, Campion, Hannant also all imports to the club certainly had an impact during their time at the Broncos, as a club it would be a mistake to limit the makeup of the squad purely internally.

Can't say I agree about Blair. He may be "big", but he doesn't really bend the line or anything like that.

I wish we had a crack at Teo when we had the chance.

We need a prop dude. A big ass prop. We have enough backrowers who don't get used properly anyway.

With all due respect, Boyds absence couldn't be measured at that time because we hadn't played a game with him yet.

That's true but even against the Tigers this year, Jordan Kahu stepped up to fill the void nicely just a shame we never got the result!

Herman.. is that you?

Seems like you praise him in every 2nd post lol

Jai Arrow is that you?

Mate what I am trying to say is the Ese'ese is extremely underrated on here due to what he has done in first grade so far. He just needs consistent first grade games and then he will truly show his talent and more than fill the void left by Wallace.

I am unashamedly a huge Herman Ese'ese and believe that he will go on to be an extremely successful forward in the game.

Exactly how many Herman Ese'ese's are there and do they all vary in size?
