I be curious to see the metres Roberts made under Kodi compared to Hunt recently. Felt like Kodi was getting him good quality early ball.

It seems like Roberts has been getting more ball the last few games earlier in the tackle count. It should definitely be Milf/Roberts combining rather than Hunt/Roberts.

So apparently Milf has lost 3 kegs and his sprint times have reduced. Straight from the Broncs head of conditioning...

And here I was believing what I had been told, despite the evidence of my own eyes, that he hadn't lost any speed, when he was carrying his extra chunk...

It doesn't sound like he was a poor trainer, just a few off-field habits that needed to be addressed.

Never said he wasn't a good trainer, the point was he had put on weight and lost the speed and acceleration that made him such a dangerous ball-runner.

This was denied due to 'facts' by those supposedly in the know. Now the Broncs head of conditioning has openly said this...

Milford was noticeably quicker over the first five metres as he terrorised the Cowboys, with Broncos high-performance chief Jeremy Hickmans saying the pivot is primed to fire in the playoffs.
“Anthony is probably in the best shape I’ve seen him,” Hickmans said.
“He started the year at around 95kg and we’ve got him down to 92kg, which is probably his ideal playing weight.

“The upside of his shoulder injury was that it gave us time for him to work on his fitness. He has always been quick over the first 10 metres but he is now even sharper.

Someone isn't telling the truth as the two positions are diametrically opposed. We now see lighter Milford running like we used to and we all saw heavier Milf unable to...

Everyone knew Milford was at 95kg's at the start of the year, I don't recall the Broncos ever denying that.

It was said his times were the same as they were when he started at the Broncos, and there is nothing in the article that says that wasn't the case.

There is little doubt in my mind, he doesn't work hard in the weights room. He has put on weight and not good weight at that and there is little to no muscle definition about him now, whatsoever.

I've no doubt he does all the running and drills with the team, but to say he is a lazy trainer by NRL standards is an easy thing to believe. People can say what they like about Ben Hunt, but you look at him and Milford side by side and there is no doubt about who works harder on their strength and fitness.

Funny how Paul Kent is now being slammed for saying what most of us are saying as well...

The article makes out it was a diet issue, not a training problem.

Is it possible that both sides were right? That Milford started the season heavy, but it wasn't going to be a big deal because he'd lose it over the course of the season?

Considering he only really rediscovered his running game in the last few rounds, I'd say it's a pretty big deal. Can't expect the same every season.

Everyone hopes Milford will grow out of it, but I can see why others thought the situation was over-exaggerated and were willing to be patient with Tony and not bag him out or buy into Kent's BS.

I don't think the article proved either side right or wrong.

At the start of the season He was out run by Thaiday and would nearly always fall over from stepping. Something wasn't right and now they've addressed it

He wasn't outrun by thaiday. Sam had a head start, was already in motion and Milf was the one who kicked the ball so had a foot planted, and thaiday beat him there by a millisecond.

True it also says point blank he is now quicker because he has lost some of that weight...

I'd say this is the case. The players, especially the backs, bulk up in the pre-season as they are going to lose some of it during the year, it's unavoidable with the amount of cardio they do. Especially when Bennett does his pre-finals torture sessions.

I seem to remember everyone agreeing that Milford was a fatty. The jokes were great.

His local maccas is only just getting re-stocked and McNuggets back on the menu for the general public
