Oh dear I was so excited when we signed Denan Kemp and wow that did not go so well!

Great win for your lot was awesome to watch that last try was something else and ya centre Jimmy the Jet or whatever hes called is lethal. You guys have some real strike power in your backs and thats playing the corpse of Darius Boyd at FB.

I actually thought Thaiday looked pretty good his post contact metres were solid, best game I've seen him play this season.
Cheers SJ, hope the foot is healing up. Good to see your mob enjoying some consistency this season. They are one of very few clubs that I do not despise.

Corpse of Boyd is fairly accurate. Would be surprised if he doesn't call it after this year. As for Thaiday, he cops a little more heat than is deserved IMO. He still makes good ground in short stints off the bench, though he runs out of gas extremely quickly, at which point he becomes a liability (particularly in defence).

Suspect his continued inclusion has quite a bit to do with his talk and guidance of the young bucks, rather than his personal contributions.

Literally all season... Every single week the opposition has scored at least one try from a grubber to the middle third of the field (with boyd nowhere in sight). More often than not though Boyd is gifting them 2 tries by either very lazy defence, or being well out of position. Literally any other coach would have dropped him by now, or at least taken away his captaincy. Least deserving bloke in the team of a captaincy IMO.

Honestly and I'm not trying to be a dick but I think he might be the worst starting FB in the comp.......hes just awful. I really hope he don't make Origin .

I would contend he's roughly on par with Coote and Thompson, though that's hardly saying much.

He does well to organise the troops in attack and defence but too many miles in his legs. The mind is willing most weeks, but the body is not.

Much luck our winger situation, back ups are scarce. Particularly with two instinctive running halves, we need his ability to play the sweep from the back. We ran with athletic ball runners like Hoffman after Locky retired and we just didn't have class in the halves to make it work.

Hopefully we can get a solid halfback to compliment Milf and run with Isaako, or develop a better option at FB if we persist with the current combination.

Macca - 6
His miss on Liu costs him, but he was still the winner of the hookers clash last night.

More than anything else....that is the sad state of affairs the QLD dummy half role is in. Top 2 contenders facing off, and they were both bog ordinary.

Granville was good in a narrowly beaten Cowpats team.

Yeah, or we could use our brains and get rid of the likes of Thaifood and Sims and keep McGuire

Completely agree with that statement. I meant it more as an emphasis about how important I think TPJ is going to be for the future of the club.

I think the issue with Kemp was literally everything went down the other side of the field to Manu

Lol Mccullough wasnt bog average. What game were you guys watching? He actually won man of the match voted by the players. Weird that other players rate him so highly consistently gane after game and year after year and rated so highly by coaches and past players yet hes so bog average. Conspiracy?
I get people dont like him on here but he is well above the bog average hooker.

Watching that there's no way Jake Friend is square on Isaako's try.

You're absolutely correct, and it wasn't laziness, it was deliberate so he could pressure the filed goal attempt. Anyways, 6>2 :)

Also in that clip, our two most criticised players show their worth in what most people won't have noticed or want to acknowledge. For Roberts' try, Boyd works extremely hard to get to the kick on the full and goes hard in to the defensive line. Then Nikorima has the presence of mind and vision to pass it fast and wide to Roberts, giving him the width and early ball that he needs. If either of those two were as lazy (Boyd) or lacking awareness (Nikorima) as some think, Roberts doesn't get that opportunity and we almost certainly lose the game.

The only mistake I recall of McCullough was the bad miss on Lui. And after the game you could tell he was dirty with himself for it. Apart from that, he was twice the player of Speedbump Friend.

I've been waiting for someone to bring this up. How many tries did Boyd have a hand in last night? He made a piss poor attempt of a tackle but other than that he played well. And he has over the last three weeks now. Tedesco on the other hand has a bunch of run metres that have led to absolutely nothing, all year..

Macca at his best is comparable to Smith. He just struggles to reach it except on rare occasions. He doesn't have Smith's vision but in form, he is still the best read of the game on the team. His service is less than some but by no means bad. He is also one of the few who can play 80 minutes and with the work he does, that cannot be undervalued. To my mind, he must be the most prolific tackler the Broncos have ever had (think of how much better a forward not doing those tackles or chasing after breaks from the likes of Granville or knik would be)
With him in the team, I notice both halves tend to play better, as does the team as a whole. I wouldn't be swapping him for anyone and I think he will be fine for QLD with a team of great forwards. He might also provide more game vision from hooker than any of his competitors (with perhaps the exception of Granville, but god I'd hate to Granville's defence in an origin).
You might wish for more lethal runs out of dummy half or better service but I've seen no one that does those things better do them consistently. The one exception being Smith (the greatest of all time).
I'd still love to see him given a spell and maybe shifted out to the halves, the way smith does. He wouldn't be lost there and knik would excel as a dummy half runner (perhaps later in the game when things are tight
Our problem is halfback. What can we do about it? Whilst the team is winning I would not be changing knik UNLESS one of his understudies manages to stand up in Intrust cup. I'd especially be paying attention to their kicking game and organising skills. I couldn't care less about their ability to break tackles or run the length of the field, but a good pass, good kicking and game vision are musts. I'd even settle for speed bump for a tackler (those things can be rectified with time, or at least compensated with at half). I'd be interested in how people think knik's potential replacements are going and if they tick any of those boxes?

After the Cordner or Liu try (can’t remember which) they had a shot of JWH strutting back, head swagger, just about flapping his **** wings he was celebrating like they’d already won. Suck shit you grubby piece of shit.

Would've (and probably still do) agreed with this, but I met this bloke a few days before their game against the warriors and had a chat. Probably the nicest and politest player I've met from any club, amazing just how different they can be on field.
