NEWS Seibold tells Boyd he will play centre next season

Maybe just maybe the coach cannot categorically say he is not playing for broncos next year because players do have a tendency to injure themselves during the off-season and Seibold may need Boyd as a stop gap . Also when he says his position is centre there may be 4 players ahead of him. I am just so happy he is not in the spine.

I wouldn't mind him at centre if he wasn't taking up so much of the cap...
Well, that ship has sailed. Talk to the brilliant minds who stamped that shocker of a deal...

Other than that, and provided Bird does leave, giving us some cap breathing room that is abundantly clear we won't get from Boyd, I truly prefer him there than Shiba or Glenn.

Of course we could see someone rise above (Herbie?) and at that point Boyd will be lucky to play wing... especially if Oates and Isaako keep performing at this season't average level.

Remember lads to boo Boyds his name gets called out at every home game.

I would ask anyone to sit infront of a bloke like Boyd and just say your done. Especially when that bloke believes he can do better. It would be the hardest thing you could do as a coach.

If this story is true, the conversation would have been this is it, do or die. 14 games is all he has. To be honest I am ok with it. Its not a spine position and he could potentially go well there.

My main concern is the spine macca and Boyd need not be there. I don't know how Milf is now being said to be axed at 5/8 because everyone knows it was Boyd who got axed and Milf moved to fullback to see how it could work. I am now of the opinion that Milf at fullback is not the answer. He lacks the size of modern fullbacks and is to far into his 5/8 development. Moving him back is logical.

7 and 1 is the two areas that need fixing now if Turps gets the 9.

For those having a meltdown, please consider this:
  1. Boyd is probably better than Shiba currently.
  2. Boyd is now out of the spine
  3. Boyd is now on notice completely
  4. Seibs now has control of the situation, ie no performance, Boyd dropped - career over.
  5. If bird leaves, we don't have many other options there and if we did, they would be better at Fullback as milf will be back at 6.
  6. If we send him to Qcup or not, we are still paying 700k to him next year.

I’ve considered all those things and went him out of our team. I’d rather Shiba. Boyd is an embarrassment and I don’t care how good of a bloke he might be or how hard he’s trying, he’s constantly dogged it over the last 2 seasons. He doesn’t deserve any more chances and the fact we’re losing Bird instead of this gronk is beyond comprehension.

My preference would be for him to retire but if he does play next season, I honestly don't have a problem with him at centre. He's sure as shit still a mile better than someone like Shiba or Coates who may as well be a turnstyle.

I don't think Boyd is a bad player even this year I just think he's too slow to be a fullback and he absolutely is not a half, he does not have the skill set and never has. At centre, good defence is more important than being explosive with the ball. We leak points like no tomorrow on the edges, if Boyd can do nothing but defend well and communicate with his winger, he'd have something to add. Absolutely 100% his last year though, he cannot continue in 2021 no matter what.

If he's not retiring, I'm okay with him remaining captain. No one else is a stand out choice and them knowing we'll have a new captain the following year may show who is the stand out choice. I'd happily install Haas as captain for 2021 if he gets through next year incident free and continues to be as excellent as he has been.

Boyd may be given the early season to prove himself (wouldnt be the option i would have chosen), but hopefully they look to transition another centre in before the 15 games.

What position has farnworth been playing in Q Cup? I would really like to see him in the side and it would be nice to have some speed out wide again. Or perhaps seibs is hoping after another off season and more practice in lower grades perese may be better equipped for FG.

I just cant cope with another year of ineffectual coaching and team selections, and despite the tough talk, i fear that may be all it amounts to.

Matey, this reads in short- I'm happy for Seibs to shuffle the deckchairs on the Titanic.

The solution is simples _Boyd is the most professional trainer in the squad. Last year was the fittest he's even been (he reckoned). So let him train with first grade and make him play in Q cup.

The point is, the further away from the first grade team he is, the less harm he can do. It's his 'give-up' attitude that pisses me off, waving his arms in the air, making poor attempts at tackles, just giving up basically and being ineffectual at whatever he does. He does not belong in a broncos jersey anymore, he showed that countless times this year.

I'm ok with this. He's no longer a spine player, and sadly if Bird does indeed leave he is our best centre option right now. Unless Isaako plays centre and Boyd play wing.

Umm, no. Boyd, the captain, acting like a fucking peaheart virtually every game, giving up, letting opposition players run straight past him, no effort, waving and flapping his fucking arms in the air whinging to the ref instead of tackling, turning his back on bombs instead of catching them, falling over thin air....Do you want me to go on?
No, how many times to you need to keep parroting the same shit? It's tiresome and unoriginal. We got it the first 50 times you've posted it.

He may not have had the 3 or 4 on his back anytime this season but I'm sure he defended in the centres in one game and was easily ran over for a try. He did a great impression of one of those fainting goats.
