I certainly have no idea what Bird is on, and even though over recent years we have had a ridiculous propensity to overpay players, I would think something around that 700-800k mark would be around the spot.

At his best, I think that would be fair enough too. There is no doubt Jack's recent injury plagued seasons have clouded a lot of peoples' judgements (including me) on his actual worth and how good he can/used to be when fully fit.

Absolutely! I see nothing in Offa. Others such as Carrigan, Flegler, TPJ etc do better than him by far. If we paid 500k p/year to keep Offa here, that is fucking insane and such a waste of valuable dollars that should have been used to secure a half.

Agree with all this. Also am taking with a grain of sand that Boyd's contract value drops this year. The club have shown beyond any reasonable doubt this year they are happy to disrespect and mislead the fans. I'll bet he's on a juicier number, around the 700-800k mark himself.

For a guy his age his composure is outstanding and thats the first thing rookie players struggle with getting flustered, his defensive reads are fantastic and the right side was great defensively until he got injured...What is he a year away? So we plan on getting rid of Milford,If we sign Croft? milf ain’t no fb. He’s not worth what he’s on now never was, he does however thrive (seemingly) next to a steady hand. I’m betting he takes a pay cut when his contract runs out. I’m more concerned about our fb situation more then the milf, dearden combo.

yes dearden probably isn’t 100% ready now but we don’t have a Cronk to sign and Milford in the halves seems to be criminals underrated around these parts, probably because of his pay check “I get it”. He’s stil a class half.

Croft at under 400k is bargain in anyone's books. Unless we literally do not have 400k spare then I think we should take that deal and run with it before Melbourne slam the door shut.

No point playing hardball, we need a Halfback for our 2020 season to have any hope of life, and Croft for less than 400k is easily the best option available to us.

I'd easily pay 450-500k for Croft to be our main half with the role to steer the team around the park, Milford to play eyes up footy as a brilliant 6 outside him...

Milford won't do this with Dearden as his partner.

I have a gut feeling that this will still happen but that we are crying poor to the media to try and get a discount on this (and a few other re-signings).

We don't want to crow about money we have left over in our cap otherwise player and manager expectations suddenly rise.
