I have read several articles overnight where Bellamy made some very very subtle references to a possible problem with Brodie's attitude, which seemed to relate to him being a little bit cocky and over-confident in himself. Hence, Bellamy dropped him back to QCup on several occasions to possibly bring him back a peg or two and keep his feet on the ground.

Look, he wouldn't be the first player to have a bit of an issue with Bellamy, with him appearing to be very prickly at times. Further, Brodie is a halfback, I want him to be a little bit cocky and be very confident in his ability. I'm sure if it is anything untoward, Seibs will bring him into line pretty quickly - just as he did with Roberts which ultimately led him to being shown the door mid-season.

Despite some negative nellies on here having their doubts, I for one am extremely happy about this signing and believe we may have just snagged a halfback who is on his way to being OUR/THE elite halfback of the comp over the next 10 years for a bargain basement price.

totally agree and I like the fact he has a big ego and took on guys like smith because that’s exactly what the broncos need in a half right now, he wants to run the show and he will get to

No that is fair enough, hence I liked your post following the one I commented on. I don't know if it is going to work, but I am happy we got some depth, I am happy that there is some competition for spots and we will know after next season whether we look to retain Croft or just move him on.
Agreed

Just as a sidenote, I subscribe to a number of other rugby league forums and the overwhelmingly consensus amongst the Storm fans is they are not happy Bellamy is letting Brodie go. They are not relishing the thought of relying on Hughes as half, or an untried and untested Cooper Johns.

So yeah, some more positive signs there for us if Storm fans are pissed we now have Brodie.

Yep, he could be the one! He has certainly improved a lot. Cant actually remember if Melbourne wanted to keep him tbh. I think he only had a one year deal at Melbourne, so he may have just not signed anything they put in front of him. He was his own worst enemy in his younger days and its probably why he broke through so late.

But best of all: not only are we getting the halfback we need, cheap; Melbourne is paying us to take him.

Every good thing he does for us will be like a kick straight at Bellamy's nutsack.

**** I like everything about this.

Especially the bit where we went cold contact , sorry Melbourne bitches, and pushed the Green angle in the press. We played the Storm the same way those cheating cunters have played us so many times.

It's possible Milf and Deardon will be competing for the organising half role and Croft and Bird will be competing for the running half role. SOS being a general back up.

2021 , Seibs will need to decide on cutting those 5 down to 3. But he should already have a clear clue by end of this preseason.

Turps and Paix competing for the 9.

The 1 position looking like our weakest link, but depth at 3/4 is the best in a long time and hoping Herbie has a massive break out.

It would appear that no matter what this current regime does, it is not correct in the eyes of quite a few people posting on this site. Not only that, they are not even prepared to let things play out before making a call that it is mistake.
It would also appear that people are desperate for a win for the current coach, so they leach onto a middle of the range signing like we just signed a peak Lockyer

Great Signing!!

We now have a halfback who has been given clear direction on what his role will be within the side. Croft wants to take control of a side and quite frankly that is exactly what our side needs. Milf will now have the so called organising half he needs, so hopefully people will stop making excuses for him if he performs at his usual inconsistent level.

I'm a big fan of Dearden and quietly confident he is the halfback we need. I don't see this signing hindering his development at all. If anything, given Dearden's attitude and approach to the game this will probably help him. I agree completely with @Wolfie that players should be picked on performance. So if Dearden is out playing Croft, than he should be picked ahead of him. The same should apply to Milford. And it most definitely applies to Macca and Boyd as well.

We now have Milf, Croft, Dearden, Paix, Bird and O'Sullivan (when fit) to pick our halves from. Not a bad pool of Talent. I can't see Milf lasting beyond next year. I see his money going towards retaining other players in our squad, same could be said for Bird. I think we will find a long term halves partnership out of Dearden, Croft and Paix. Good news for us we have 2020 for Milf, Bird and O'Sullivan to prove that they are worth re-signing.

Not nearly as good as BHQ fella lol. I just subscribe to some general NRL forums and read them occasionally for the 'shits n giggles' factor 🤪

Maybe they are just happy the Broncs have signed someone they identified as someone they wanted, pursued and got and signed to a reasonable contract?

You know, like any professional club is supposed to do and after the nonsense we have seen with contracts and recruitment and retention in recent years, this is seen as a breath of fresh air?

As a supposed supporter of this club, you sure do seem to be upset the club has got someone they wanted...

But yeah, no agenda here, right?
