Sack Seibold Now!

Yep, it's come to that. Would you prefer Seibold stayed and went down with his ship of shit?
We can't go down with the ship, he burnt all of the ships along with the boats.

Walters is a good option.

He has got the best out of Milford in the past.

He also has the support of the old boys. We could use their support right now.

At this point I would take griffin I think he did a good job at the panthers give him 2 years to rebuild the club He do a better job then our coach

I was very optimistic about the Seibold signing.
Unfortunately it just isn't going to work. The players are not buying into whatever he is trying to sell.
For mine, he seems smart, maybe too smart to the point where he has tricked this entire incapable Brisbane Broncos board. He is way too far out of his depth now. He is literally as clueless as his game plans. He is barley holding on.
The saddest part is, I don't think the club is strong enough ie Paul White to terminate his contract. It will not only make them look like fools, but I think they're all just as clueless as the coach.
We need a hard nose running this joint, the first bloke that comes to mind is V'landys, but that isn't going to happen. That bloke makes calls, can see through the BS and actually gives a fk about his role works ridiculously hard, and knows what success looks like.
Paul White needs to go at the end of this year. The bloke has seen 4 coaches throughout his time at the club, and had no success on field. Financially he may be great, but I couldn't give two hoots about the financial state of this club to be honest.
They have proved that providing the best training facilities in the entire league means nothing, in fact we have regressed further since the state of the art training facilities were built.
Lastly, bring in the second Brisbane team ASAP, it may be the only thing that actually makes the Brisbane Broncos wake the fk up!
Hopefully the sponsors of the club are making phone calls to head office/White questioning when/if/where any form of success is going to come at this club.

We will be genuinely battling for the spoon this year. I have never been so dissapoiunted in this club, in its entire existence.
The club is pathetic, its extremely sad to see.

we apparently offered him a big deal (even bigger than the Storm) ... I actually think he may not want to coach a team without Smith in it for fear of ruining his legacy
I'm guessing it obviously wasn't a large enough offer. Actually, come to think of it I seem to recall the story at the time was that we trumped Melbourne's initial offer and then Melbourne had an 11th hour rally with their owners and ended up trumping our offer? Money should honestly have been no object here. There is almost certainly a sum of money that exists out there that would have enticed him to come to the Broncos, it was just up to us to identify it. 2 million a year? 5 million a year? For a team winning games and Premierships consistently that expense is almost certainly justified.

For any Game of Thrones fans out there I'm reminded of the line from Tyrion Lannister: "And if the day ever comes where you're tempted to sell me out, remember this: Whatever the price, I'll beat it. I like living."

That really should have been the last thing we said to Bellamy when he stood up from that negotiating table to go home and mull it over. He needed to be reminded in no uncertain terms that if he decided to stay with Melbourne for any reason at all, it would come at a significant financial disadvantage to himself to do so.

I think the sacking of Bennett and hiring of Seibold was us trying to start a new identity for the club that was more similar to other teams. That hasn’t worked though. For whatever reason, the broncos are different from other clubs. Maybe that’s the shadow of Wayne? Who knows. Rationally Kevvie isn’t a great choice for coach, but he’s a fucking bronco and he’s incredibly passionate about what this club stood for.

We have a new entity. The Northern Titans

unless there is a clearly better option ... then yes. Kevin Walters in NOT a clearly better option. His head coaching record in an easier comp for Catalans is poor (actually worse than Seibs current record). I think time may have passed Kevvie, because the fact that at 52, he still hasn't been offered a head coaching role, and that is telling IMO.

i'd actually like to see if he can get us out of this slump. it could be the making of him as a coach.

you have a look at someone like Brad Arthur, who really struggled for a year or two, but once he was able to make some changes to the roster, is now going really well.

even the great Wayne Bennett had mass calls for his sacking in 91, but the club stuck by him and the rest as they say is history.
At this point I’d say you’re a better option than seibold.
The bloke has to go. No one wants to play for him.

I personally think Siebold is a good coach, it’s just that things have really gone against him since he got here. He hasn’t been helped by injuries, and it has all just snowballed from there. Now, everything that happens is scrutinised massively and it is taking its toll in the players who are promising, but very young and inexperienced.

I don’t think any coach can be successful here until Walters is installed as head coach. While the old boys think he is hard done by every coach that comes here will have that lingering over them.

I personally don’t think Walters will be a good coach, but he needs to be given a chance. If he is successful, then all the better for us, if not, we can finally move on and let our coach actually coach without the ‘Walters Mess’ hanging over the club.

FED UP my observations are similar to most regarding Boyd and Milford they simply are not performing and are a cruelling the group. They're both fairweather players inspiring noone when it gets tough, and they're shifting all the pressure onto Croft who is trying hard almost too hard to compensate.
If White signed Seibold because he's an intelligent new age coach with strategic ability, he sure isn't showing it. One out running and a bomb on the 5th always to Coates wing seems to be the only game plan i've been able to identify. We're pretty much the only team that hasn't adapted to the new 6 again rule and there is an absence of team work direction and creativity.

Leadership is absent. Glen is a poor choice of captain he's been a loyal servant but seriously he's been on the downward slide for a couple of seasons,
Broncs have great young talent but sadly their senior players have been exposed as muppets and since the departure of Parker have had no onfield leader.

You had me until "good."
He can obviously do something with the right cattle. Look how he got a dysfunctional Souths team to turn into an attacking monster. He obviously saw something he liked in the young Broncos’ players, otherwise why would he leave Souths? He’s probably made some wrong decisions with regards to recruitment, but his hand has been forced with this massive contracts that players are on.

Would Kevvie even be willing to take Seibold's sloppy seconds? I guess he doesn't have too many other prospects...

I don't think he's the answer, short-term or long-term, but I do have to agree with whoever said we need to get that particular monkey off our backs before we can move forward, so I guess he's not a terrible solution. Surely he can't go worse than Seibold, and if they only give him an incentive-based short-term contract, it's no real loss if he doesn't bring any significant improvement and we need to move him on in a year or two. I still want Hodges involved, though.

Realistically, though, we probably have Seibold until the end of next year, minimum.

if people think the old boys are bad now ... wait until we inevitably have to sack their mate

Yeah, there is that. If it did eventuate Gordie will for sure be shouting they didn't give him a fair chance, odds were stacked against him, the team was ruined by the previous coach. But maybe some of the more rational old boys would be fairer.

It's a real damned if you do, damned if you don't situation we've gotten ourselves in.

Another rookie coach worries me. Having a rookie coach come in and trying to turn around a team performing this poorly would be very difficult and a major coaching challenge. However options are limited.

I also think the replacement has to be a QLDer. Not essential but a step back grass roots.

I must have missed out constant bottom four seasons... FMD.

Any toys left to throw out of the cot?
Look, I'm flattered you read everything I write, but you really are coming off a little obsessive now. You should probably see someone about those sort of tendencies, there is plenty of help available these days.

If we don't start winning, he will be gone before the end of this year. I reckon if we cant win 2 or our next 3 he could be out. The players just aren't responding to him.
