My biggest question surrounding this, is if Kevvie becomes coach, what will Gorden Tallis have to talk about in the media for the next 2 years.

He'll find something

@McHunt it's also just occurred to me that as a publicly listed company, you almost certainly can't exactly just window dress an application process for a new CEO. There is a diverse pool of shareholders to answer to and all the regular ASIC rules to comply with and any discontent from shareholders if they feel a process wasn't adhered to correctly can be dealt with quite severely by the regulatory bodies.

Cameron Smith's father thinks he'll retire:

“My gut feel is that Cam may put the cue in the rack. Cam will make a decision shortly. He told me three weeks ago he would make a call and it’s now been four weeks, so the decision is imminent. Mentally and physically, he feels he can play on next year, but he is weighing up other factors. Physically, Cam feels fine and says he could go another year, but whether that’s with Melbourne, Brisbane or the Titans, I don’t know. He won’t go to a Sydney club. Within himself, he feels he can go again, but he doesn’t want to commit to anything that he can’t back up. Rather than let anyone down, he would rather retire.”

What sort of shape is his old man in? Might help give us a guide on what we could expect from Cam himself by the time he retires?

Personally I read most of that as being more likely he'd play on but I guess only Cam really knows.

What does Seibold do?

Well , Head Coach is his title .
That means he delegates responsibility to other folks who are experts in tackling, passing , aerobic fitness and lifting weights in the gym .
I`d be shining the spotlight equally on the experts . Who is the defence coach ? He should have been sacked after successive blow outs .
The person responsible for putting Mat Lodge back in the team at half fitness needs his position reviewed as well ...

Technically the shareholders (read majority shareholder) appoints (approves) the directors, and the directors (board) appoints the management.

I'd also be shining the spotlight on the corrosive assholes who undermined both Seibold and the team's performances this year

I'm sure it is. It's how it happens that interests me, and the planning around succession

He will be pushed on us pre season next year no doubt.... But there's 2 main criteria for marketability and they are both something he will not see much of for the next 3 years... winning is one, and it is something we cannot claim to bring him either at the moment admittedly... But the 2nd, is a FAN BASE. Something the titans will not have regardless of the push and help from the nrl

Usually I would explain in full to you just how outright stupid the last line of this post is but it's meant to be on Siebold. On that note it seems as though he could be taking the payout in order to avoid the Broncos digging further into the rumours which may or may not provide groundings for a payless sacking? Otherwise I seriously don't see why he couldn't wait 6 weeks to get sacked for way more cash?

To be honest I would be happy with that for a few years - get us back to being the Broncos and not a bunch of fucking cry baby *****. If he goes better than expected that's a positive but we need to rebuild our identity first and foremost and no one is better suited to do that than Kevvie.
Completely agree

I'm curious to know what you mean by that.

Yeah of course, but there is also a portion of the Broncos shareholder base who are quite vocally unhappy with the current board and administration and I expect they'd take a very dim view of the board holding a sham application process for any new CEO. Fortunately for them, in Australia, whether you own 1% or 99% of the shares in a company, you're just as entitled to go to ASIC and ask them to intervene if you believe due processes are not being adhered to or the board is not acting in the interests of all shareholders.

I'd just be happy if everyone of the interviewers turned up for every one of the interviews - regardless of the Interviewee being Craig Bellamy or Peter Gentle. That's certainly a greater professional courtesy than we showed all the applicants last time.

I have said this before when it's come up- It was communicated to JD in advance that White couldn't make his interview and he was given the choice to move it- he said no.

"Not turn up" is complete rubbish. Lockyer couldn't get to Kevvie and Kevvie moved it.
