OFFICIAL Adam Reynolds will join the Broncos in 2022

Incoming reports indicate Adam Reynolds will sign a three-year deal with the Broncos worth approximately $2.25 million by the end of the week. That's $200,000 less than the Sharks offered, but will include the captaincy. Thank Wayne Bennett for swaying that, apparently. Reynolds is reported to have already told his team mates he's leaving.

Nicho Hynes signature is likely to follow.

Story has high confidence. Expecting announcement tomorrow.

Damien Cook:

“I have had a chat with him where I’ve asked him to stay, he’s a big reason why I came to the club in the first place, because he was the halfback. Is it a cruel part of our game where you can’t keep everyone? It is. But we’ll see what happens.”

Reynolds’ manager Steve Gillis:

“Not once has Adam said to me I don’t want to move to Queensland, it’s not a barrier at all for him. People just assume because he has four kids, he won’t want to move, but Adam is open to moving. Adam wants the security of a longer-term deal certainly. There’s no point signing one-year deals if you plan on playing for three or four more years. He will get a three-year deal wherever he chooses to go, he is 30 years of age and Benji Marshall (Souths teammate) has shown playmakers can play until their mid-30s.”

Meanwhile, the Sharks are rumoured to be considering Anthony Milford instead. But that's more speculation based on who else is coming to market than anything solid.

It all depends o.n 5/8.

I don’t think you can accomodate Staggs and Isaako in the same spine because there is too much a lack of ball playing, and too high a focus on running. Reynolds isnt a JT - he doesn’t provide that many try assists.

However a ball pllaying 5/8 like SJ, Milf or Drinkwater (I know he’s off the table) would accomodate Isaako well.

1. Isaako (running game)
6. Johnson (quick feet, playmaker)
7. Reynolds (organiser)
9. Turpin (dirty work)

vs

1. Hynes (quick feet, playmaker)
6. Staggs (strong runner)
7. Reynolds (organiser)
9. Turpin (dirty work)

I’d personally prefer the first set up so Staggs can keep his centre spot.

1. Isaako
2. Oates
3. Gagai
4. Staggs
5. Farnworth
6. Johnson
7. Reynolds
Etc
This ... we still need a playmaker to take over when we get inside the 20m, and I don't think Staggs can do that.

Arey currently has Latrell, Cody and Cook... we need to provide him some attacking threats that can get the ball out to the centers and wingers.

The last few weeks Milf has looked better with Gamble being the legitimate first receiver, and Kevvie has modified our attack to get both halves and the fullback all on the open side to link in backline movements. In a post game interview after the titans game Isaako indicated something about making sure the three spine players link up (i.e. Gamble > Milf > Isaako).

I'm sure there's more, but the below are examples I can think of from recent games:
- Isaako's 1st try vs titans had all 3 involved with Milf wrapping around the ruck to create the overlap (leaving Proctor looking like a moron watching him run away and not reacting) and then put on a nice pass to Isaako that put him through the hole
- Coates try vs cows had all 3 linking in a simple movement that put Coates away for a simple try
- Arthars try vs cows had Milf pop up in the middle of the field and get the ball outside the halves to eventually get Coates away down the sideline.

We weren't doing that in earlier games, as we always had a half on the blind side and using the middle forward as a link man.

Souths adopt a similar style with Reynolds > Cody > Latrell... Arey will fit into this current system perfectly, but he needs the 6 & 1 to help him in that department.

I was thinking before that Kodi would be a nice 6 to have outside of Arey, but I think he just took up his PO with warriors, which is a shame, because I thought he'd be a reasonable half to pick up on a decent deal.

I think Milf works as well, because he's doing it at the moment, we already have him (don't need to poach him from a different team) and he'd likely take a pay cut.

I don't think we have any kids left to put in at 6 and I just can't see Staggs being the 6 that works with Arey. SJ would be a dream 6 to have outside Arey, but he's likely too expensive.

My preferences would be SJ or Milf at this stage.

We already have one, waiting in the wings, or rather centres. If Isaako fails at FB I'd really like to see Herbie get a go.
The voices for him to play there are getting louder(Media asked him a few questions this week about his background playing there), would be surprised if we don't see him there at some point this year unless Isaako really kicks into gear and or doesn't get injured at some point.

I am a clear (and obvious) Aye for the Reynolds & Milf partnership.

With Reynolds, our 6 options should be Gamble or Staggs.

Hard no to Milford.
Yeah I'd way rather a makeshift centre option or a journeyman over someone who is still young and has shown elite level 6 play in the past.

Milf is a hard decision. He has been taking the piss for 3 years and still needs to lift this year to convince KW he is worth the punt but with AR and especially if we get Hynes the pressure to be the man is gone.
We just may see the old Milf back.

So called journeyman who is 2 years younger then who is ''young''.

Reynolds and Hynes aren’t going to tackle for the little wombat.

100% - he's had to do it all himself and be the only genuine attacking threat* in the spine for two years.

So where is the credit going for this? I'm certain I'm right when I assume Nolan sat at the back of the room quietly playing with toys like a kid in the doctors waiting room while Kev and Donuts did all the talking.

I’m sick of banking on Milf turning it around. I honestly don’t think he deserves the chance to get a shot at playing with Reynolds.

also I feel that we need to give Herbie a shot at fullback before going to market for one. I really want to see what he can do there. Think he could be elite eventually.
