[Round 22, 2021] Broncos vs Roosters

If Fleglers arm is not next to the guys head he cannot hit him head high. I've watched it in slow motion several times, Flegler definitely put himself in that position, again.

Well then based on this and the players' poll, I am clearly out of touch with what people want from league. If we want to penalise players for trying to wrap guys up around the chest, we might as well change the rules to touch football. The league world has gone mad...or maybe I have.

At the end of the briefing he was asked a question about the challenge process where he conceded it wasn’t the most “tidy” process, but he still claimed they could challenge it because it was an incomplete PTB.

If that’s the case it needs to be changed, you shouldn’t be allowed to make an error playing the ball & then be able to go back & challenge the entire previous play after the ref has already called tackle completed. It’s ridiculous.

he completely ignored the fact that Tedesco specifically asked to challenge the high contact, which only the team who gets penalised can challenge ... not one of the media brought that up either

maybe because the stopped listening to him after his 10 minute rant about the refs copping criticism for their decisions

Seven tackle set iirc

Yeah seven tackle set. Then the following year in 2014, they get knocked out after Lui knocks on in the lead-up to their match-winning try. To this day the Cowboys will still tell you it wasn't a knock on, even though it was.

What does Kennedy actually offer? seriously..

He's a big body and I get that but he makes that many errors, hitting guys in the face.. dropping the ball, etc

Kevvie's developed a few others just like him except they don't seem to make the same errors over and over
Thought I'd just check to see how many errors Kennedy actually makes. He's had ONE error, yes one (1) in the last four games according to Nrl stats. So, what and where are these imaginary errors?

I thought the Cowboys actually took that one well and accepted it was a fair call and they shouldn't have put themselves in a situation where they had to come back from 30 points down. There was a call in the lead up to the field goal they had a bigger problem with but it wasn't the referee's fault.

In the 2012 game they had a few decisions go against them, the hand of Foran was just the icing on the cake. I still think Manly were the better team and the calls gave the Cowboys a false sense of injustice.

Like I said, I didn't think it a big deal.

Yeah being down by 30 in the first half of a finals game pre COVID rule-change-a-polooza was more likely the reason they lost that one.

According to NRL stats Kennedy had two missed tackles. In fact it was Levi who had more missed tackles with three, one leading directly to a try. Yes, Levi certainly deserves way more blame than Kennedy. You'd best believe I think Levi(3mt) and Riki's(5mt) defence was the breaking point. They fucking had 8 missed tackles between them ! You really ought to check the stats!
I was just going by supercoach stats (unsure who the provider is).

Also, you'll need to read my post with a healthy dose of sarcasm applied.

All moments are vital. It was a wet night, a bench forward asked to do a second unexpected stint and on top of all that, what the **** do people expect?

I mean seriously?

What was Flegler or Haas , the front rowers on 1.5 million bucks doing? Why weren't they there? No, instead you have a guy on minimum wage putting his hand up. I am totally bewildered by the posters on this forum at times.
It was a short kick off, mate. Haas and Lodge were standing in their positions 40m away behind the try line. He was the closest forward by a mile.

I’m gonna start using the Huge model of argument

Levi doesn’t need to tackle, he’s on min wage.
Turpin doesn’t need try assists, he’s not highly paid.
Herbie doesn’t have to pass, we are getting good value from him without him passing

fun game.

huge mistake if true.

It has been like that for a long time. People always remember the last blunder, just like with Sims in 2008, despite the rest of the team making errors left, right and centre too. You just have to be extra careful in the dying moments with a close scoreline, your one job is not to stuff it up, you don't even have to run hard or anything.
You're right and fucking Millford should have just jogged on instead of throwing a shit pass to Kennedy's hip.

I’m not sure it’s been said quite enough across the last 1.5 pages, so I want to confirm three things:

- it was a wet night;
- Kennedy only made one mistake and it didn’t lead to a try, and;
- Levi and Riki (and Flegler?) cost us the game.

Bingo?
Mmmm, first two are okay. Cannot really blame any one person or thing. The high shot could have been avoided.

This mentality applied to a vehicle purchase highlights it for me.

You consider a car because you want reliable performance. Fair enough. You want a car with that reliability AND performance so choose the high priced model. However the high priced model is just that, high. You reconsider. You leave but see a similar car for sale at one sixth the price!!

Great, you drive off and after a while it breaks down and had sluggish prior performance.

So, what did you expect? When you get what you pay for why are you surprised?

We pay Kennedy a pittance yet expect Haas like performance? No one can say Kennedy doesn't give value for money. It's fucking ludicrous to expect him to be a world class prop on basically McDonalds wages. He made one mistake that led to nothing.
I reckon a Datsun 180B would have caught that pass.

Sorry dickhead, that's not my model.

Here it is so you can misrepresent it again.

If you want the highest performance levels you pay for the privilege.
If you aren't prepared to pay for the best you MUST ACCEPT the lower standards you've paid for.

Even so, Kennedy isn't playing poorly. One error in the last four games is proof of that.

We are getting fantastic value from Kennedy considering his wages bill. He easily meets nrl standards.
He has a low mistake rate, low tackle miss rate, makes consistent metres and represents the club appropriately.

Nope, he has been shit. You can pretend an error is just an error, but his was a game losing error. You can compare his missed tackles to other players missed tackles on a stats sheet and ignore his have led to linebreaks up the middle and tries. You can blame the weather and his salary as much as you like, you can also start your whataboutism crap, it doesn't matter.

He dropped the ball that kept us in our end which resulted in us losing the game. The fact you need to bring in so many excuses and reasons for his errors shows how shit he is. At his absolute best, purple patch career best form, he was a serviceable bench prop.

Wasn’t a good pass but was definitely catchable. Spud effort from Kennedy
