Both second rowers for the majority of the year, Riki and Capewell, were really average this year.

If Piakura and Robati have great preseasons, I don't think we should hesitate having them as our starting back rowers for Round 1.

- Haas fucked off

- Staggs on his final notice, if not straight up flicked/traded

- New Assistant Coaches

- A program of serious attitude adjustment for the entire squad over the off season

- Carrigan takes Capewell's VC. Capewell told to focus on his footy or shop himself around

- Still not sold on Flegler. He still seems to be more of a liability with his penalties and binnings than any positives he provides

- Kennedy, Riki, Niu and Turpin straight out the door. Cobbo to begin training at centre ASAP as it seems Farnworth is not long for this world either.

Call Hagan, see what he's doing and see if he wants to live in Brisbane.

Coaching
Get someone in who can teach defence. It's been woeful for years
Give them the control of the bench because Kev is hopeless

Players
Flick Haas, he's toxic
Move on Staggs, too inconsistent
And flog the rest in pre season. If they sook, just print out the games that led to us going from 4th to 9th
Get a hooker.

Half measure. If you can't trust your coach to make interchanges, he shouldn't be coaching.

I'd like to see Capewell moved to 13 next year. He clearly has some good ball playing ability, and he really struggled to finish the year on the edge. He could be a Yeo type 13.

There is no room for him there I don't reckon.

We already have Carrigan and I actually would like to see Hetherington starting their next season.

Maybe we could have Capewell coming off the bench as utility who can cover outside backs and fowards?

Your idea of Capes at 13 could have good legs. I just hope he has the endurance in his legs to do it. He would need to drop 3-5kg.

We finished the year much the same way we started in the trials, the middle part of the season was probably the anomaly. I can’t see Kevvie making the changes to his assistants, if he even admitted there were issues.

I really likes what i saw from Piakura ... finally getting a run of games together and some footy under his belt and we are starting to see he has that dreaded "P" word.

a good off season and he could lock down one of those starting backrow spots.

Well a lot worked well this year and I reckon punting Haas may be all that's needed to right fade out from this year. Get a 9 or at least give Paix the 9 jersey, take that decision out of Kevvie's hands.

no Turpin will ensure that happens

Which players 25 and under are worth keeping? Because it really shouldn't be all of them, otherwise we'll keep seeing the same results.

Cobbo - Yes.
Farnworth - Yes, if he doesn't want to leave.
Flegler - Maybe? Next year is make or break for him.
Haas - Looking like probably no now, but they really need to try to arrange some kind of swap for him.
Hetherington - Yes, as long as he doesn't demand too much.
Mam - Yes, just need to be patient with him like we couldn't with Dearden.
Niu - Probably no, would need to have an insane off season with Walsh coming in.
Paix - Pretty much no choice here, unless another hooker falls into the Broncos lap.
Palasia - Probably not. He's capable of some good games, but I'd be looking for more experienced props instead.
Piakura - Too early to say.
Riki - No, just don't feel like he offers much..
Robati - Too early to say.
Staggs - No, doesn't offer anywhere near enough for his salary.
Turpin - No, already gone.
Willison - Too early to say.

If possible I’d move on Haas and Riki for McLean and John Bateman

I agree with all your keeps, so lets move on to you're undecides/No's

Flegler - definite yes for me. we need his aggression and skill. he also did a much better job of controlling that aggression this year (at least when the refs left their BS tip sheets at home)

Hass - agree, time to go. we get just as much from a middle of Flegs, Jensen and Carrigan all of whom are on far less cash. we can put his money to better use (but let's emulate Melbourne and get something out of his release). and let's not get started on his manager / release request.

Niu - agree with no here. at most a minimum wage depth contract.

Palasia - we saw glimpses of a quality prop here. give him another year on a modest contract.

Riki - I feel there is a quality backrower in there ... needs a big year next year or risks being over taken by Piakura

Staggs - I actually feel people were a tad harsh on Staggs here. was starting to form a good combination with Cobbo (pre-Origin). I also think Staggs being next to Cobbo, opens up room for Cobbo to do what he does, as there is another lethal ball runner the defense has to worry about.

Robati - not sold on him.

Willison/Piakura - agree both too early to tell. Peeks showed some good signs tonight and in the QLD cup, now that he's stringing games together
