It's got nothing to do with being ruthless, Norths had him signed up until end of 23 and they let him go to Leeds three games into their premiership defence with 21, 22 and 23 to go on his contract.

I would expect a SL club to do the same thing if someone got an NRL head role.

Norths could have said, talk to Leeds for 24 but it would have been a terrible move.

Meanwhile, the likes of Billy Slater, Andrew Johns and Nathan Cleary would watch every game of every round, rewinding and stop framing to spot weaknesses in the opposition. It's just unprofessional not to be interested.
