2014 Broncos Season

This is what excites me

Martin Kennedy -
"No way - I am not just aiming to get through it," he said of the pre-season.
"After injury cruelled me last year I am aiming to do some hard work this pre-season and have a good year."

And this. I don't know the injury status of the others in his group, but seeing a 122kg prop leading the way from this years playing group in 1200m runs, when he only arrived in Brisbane yesterday afternoon is a good sign.

Hopefully the others get the hint and put HIM under pressure, not vice versa...

Doesn't say anything about their ability as footballers, but both Kennedy & Mills impressed me with their interviews. Both were upfront and didn't rely on the usual PR cliches most players do. Kind of makes me want to see them succeed more than I did before.

Still, such a long off-season. Can't wait until the draw is released within the next fortnight and news on some potential signings.

Especially Mills was quite candid in saying he was basically punted out the back door by the Sharks

The failures of 2013 will go on to motivate the team 2014 you need to have your low points to have your high points. For extra motivation, before the first game of the season I would give them a pep talk on how the other Queensland clubs don't rate us and that they are laughing us and it's up to us to show them that we are Queensland's premier NRL club.

Didn't Parker also pull that move off too against the Raiders in R26 of 2010?

Still, that Copley try was awesome. Probably one of my favourite recent memories of the Broncos.

It's definitely up there with Hodges effort to send Copley over for a try against the Titans

Weren't we flogged in that game? if memory serves me correct we got beaten by 30 something to 18.

34-18, scored 3 tries in the 2nd half so could have been much worse lol, still doesn't take away anything from that pass.

The only indication we have is that we're a good chance of playing the Bulldogs in Sydney on a Friday night in Round 1 of next year.

So I was looking at the Broncos twitter for any news, and someone posted how the Dragons have just begun their pre season training, while the Broncos have been at it for a couple of weeks now? It does seem like they started training earlier, is it because we missed the finals or is it because they are being pushed harder than usual to prepare for the whole year?

Pre-season officially started around the same time as last year, but a few boys were invited to train in late October which was pretty early.

Too bad the guys that need it the most are either unavailable through injury (Reed?) or going to be taking even more time off after the World Cup (Thaiday and Glenn).

Oh well, hopefully the ones doing it now are taking it extra seriously.
