Ben Hunt - Appreciation Thread

Hoffman - was outstanding! Good passing especially
Vidot and Maranta - were consistently safe all night
Copley - so dangerous lucky to not get 3-4 tries, only coz josh Morris was there or else Copley would of had a field day
Reed- glimpses of the old reed, loved it
Barba - freak of nature his passing skills are crazy cuts to reed and visit is what those two have needed all year.
Hunt - resign the kid for ten years. Champion!
Parker- awesome played like CP13
McCullough- future captain of the broncos easy. Such a sportsman.
McGuire - he'll be playing origin next series. No doubt
Gillett and Glenn - both had there moments not special but consistent
Thaiday - played with confidence.

The bench - did everything right we never lost momentum when our starters came off coz these guys filled there places perfectly and the ball movement in the front row was awesome.

Every game this year we have one has these two factors -
1. Ball movement from the front rowers, playing more mobile
2. Hunt
We need to play like this every week!

Three factors...

3. Barba.

As you rightly said above in your comment about him, and as some of us have been saying all season about where his best position is. And a few days ago, people were happy for him to go. Sheesh.

The Hunt/Barba halves combo looks like the real deal.

As for you comment on Gillett and Glenn, Gillett's pass to Oates was for mine, rather special, and Glenn I thought was invaluable defensively.

Nevertheless, the real test of this side will be on Thursday when, on last night's performance, we play the best team in the comp.

I feel even sadder for Hook today - not that this performance redeems him yet, but that he ought to have been given to the end of the season before the club took the very public decision to sack him. If this side makes the 8, and goes even further, a lot of people need to hang their heads in shame.

Dear Broncos,

Sign Ben Hunt already.

Thanks

Broncos supporters.

Dally M hopefully but we shall see!

We all should strap ourselves in for the "will he sign, won't he sign" for the inevitable post season "I never really considered leaving the Broncs, they're like a home to me" re-signing announcement.

He's going to re-sign. Not a doubt in my mind.

Think Dally M will be JT or Hayne. Burgess and Hunt are probably just a step behind.

I think if we're being objectively honest Hayne deserves the dally me at this point and has been the stand out all year. He's been incredible in a very average team and they would be near spooners without him. On top of that he had one of the more dominant individual origin performances in recent memory.

Ben Hunt is my homeboy though and I'd live to see him get done recognition at the awards.

The dogs game would have to be his most convincing performance in the nrl. His usual attacking flare was on display and he showed a kicking game that he has lacked until now. This guy could be anything with the right team and coaching. The slow transition to first grade, the 7 on his back and the lowered expectations from Bronx fans have let him sneak past the Lockyer shadow to develop without the incredible pressure that was placed on Norman.

Very excited to see how his career pans out.

Looks like a highlights video done by the player management his with, good watch though I reckon the audio is pretty pathetic at times.

Everybody needs to report that video and get it deleted until he signs a new contract with us.

His agent is Clinton Schifcofske? Just another reason to like him!

Hunt should be our full time goal kicker

Quite possibly only issue is his lack of distance on all his kicking. If he kicks from the sideline he doesn't really aim it, just tries to hit it hard enough to get it to the posts. If the Broncos could get someone like Andrew Mehrtens from the Waratahs for a few weeks in the off season that would be great. He has coaxed an extra 15 metres out of Foley's long kicking game and goal kicking for them this year.

He is such a great player. His tackle breaks are crazy

You won't like it, but this son of a gun reminds me a little bit of Andrew Johns.

His decision making is exemplary - knows when to go and knows when to pass.

Needs to be here for life.

I think i read somewhere that Hunt idolised Johns growing up and modelled his game on Johns.

He does remind me of Johns when he runs the ball though... He's a hardrunning halfback.

It just baffles me why we haven't resigned him yet. I don't have a footy brain like all it of other blokes on here but even I can see he's the future of the team. Carried the team himself for the whole year and then had a mom game in was in essence a final. Just resign him dammit

I think it's a good decision by the club not to resign Hunt, he's only in his mid 20s and has a lot more to offer. However, not re-signing him by now is a bit baffling.
