Bennett not to return - Signs with Knights

Re: is the master coming home

I'm a bit unnerved by the story on the back page of the courier mail today. As mentioned I thought Henjack wasn't allowed to comment. It might suggest WB still has some bridges to mend with News Limited.

The timing of it as well, right as Tinkler will pitch his offer..

According to someone from Tinkler's bid (I think it might have been Ken Edwards), WB has already agreed commercial terms with the Knights, but was still deciding if we wanted to keep travelling, or settle down back in Brisbane.

If WB does come back to Brisbane, I hope we miss the 8 while he is head coach.

Are you dead serious?

That is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.

You need to get out more if it is.

I honestly can't believe you're fair dinkum.

You want the team you SUPPORT to do poorly because you don't want WB at the helm?

Absolutely ridiculous.

If you're on a wind up, it's not funny.

I want the team I support to move forward not backwards. And WB is backwards, but unless he **** up noone will admit it.

You don't want a coach to mentor someone to replace him when he retires?

He can do it as coaching director then.

Re: is the master coming home

awesome, have fun supporting someone else in those 2 seasons.

Re: is the master coming home

Let's be honest - whether Bennett is here as a "head coach" or "coaching director", he will be the guy in charge of this football team. He will play the same role no matter what title he is given. He is far too significant a character to take a back seat to anyone, let alone a rookie coach.

Re: is the master coming home

It's a step backwards because instead of making progress in life after Bennett the club is throwing in the towel and saying "**** we can't do it without him." In 2yrs time we will be in the same position. Delaying the problem instead of facing it head on.

Oh and i guess this should be Rule #1 on BHQ - If your opinion is not in line with everyone else, shut up because it obviously means you are on crack.. lets call this one the AP Rule.

Actually, if your opinion is not in line with everyone else, be prepared to cop a lot of questions and arguments telling you why people think you're wrong.

Do you think the club will not realise that Bennett will only be coaching for another two, maybe three years? They know they'll have to replace him and they'll have a plan for that. We can only speculate as to what that plan may be, but I think they see Hook as his (WB's) successor.

Anyway, Bennett might take the same role up here that he has at the Dragons - sit back and let his coaches do the training, etc and then become involved towards the end of the week when matchday is near.

Be alright if it was saying "I think your wrong because"

Instead its crap like "Your on Crack" or "dumbest thing ive ever heard" or "What a stupid comment !!"

Only person who actually gave a shit and asked a real question was Nashy.

Re: is the master coming home

All this talk of WB only being in the coaching game for another 2-3 years really baffles me [eusa_eh

The man himself said, in a press conference, that he still has a burning passion to coach and can't see himself retiring until the fires burns out.

He might well coach at the elite level for another 10 years yet.

It could also mean IH was payed to keep quiet until the club was ready to go public, now that it has he is allowed to comment.

Have a sook. You can't eve justify your reasons with something that actually makes sense, no wonder we think you're on crack lol.

What do you mean we will be in the same position again in 2 years?? In 2 years Hook will take over from Bennett. But if we tell Bennett to piss off then Hook will be our coach still in 2 years. So whats the difference? Same outcome except Hook would have gained some epic and invaluable experience being his under study.

It's only a backwards step if Hook doesn't agree and wants to go somewhere else, but that's obviously not the plan.

And finally you give something other than "Your on crack."

We went thru the whole "Oh no Bennett is leaving what will we do." We hire his understudy as our coach and he fails to impress us so we sack him, Hire his understudy and than decide "oh hang on Lets get Bennett back again so that in 2yrs we can hire his understudy"

Merry Go round at the Broncos, I don't like it.

10 - Henjak
11 - Griffin
12 - Bennett..

3 Coaches in 3yrs, If this was another club you would all be bagging out the club for not being stable.

But what does it CHANGE if Bennett comes? If we will end up with the same coach after 2 years then who cares?? Makes no diff.

3coaches in 3yrs. That alone is pathetic no matter what team it is IMO.

If this was happening and any other club there would be a thread made here bagging the **** out of them.

Re: is the master coming home

Whats pathetic is Henjak the fucking fruitcake got the job in the first place. Granted he was the last person standing and not really wanted, but we had to endure the smart **** telling us what a great coach he was, telling us the fans didn't matter, missing the fucking 8 and costing us players. Now we have to listen to dimwits try and rewrite history.

Id be satisfied if Griffin got the job, he quietly goes about his job, has a track record and gets along with the players.

If Benny comes back thats great too, GOAT coach and the last remaining **** will most likely be removed from the club in Cullen.

But why is it pathetic??? If you actually put it all on context it's
NOT pathetic. It's justified and it makes sense.

Also we aren't actually sacking Griffin.

Other teams that go through coaches quickly are in different situations. They barely given Coaches a chance.[/quote:15e3thag]

Every reason you just stated as to why it's not pathetic is currently just a rumor.

It looks like a "wow Bennett wants to come back **** Whoever our coach is let's get him."

Who cares what it looks like?? We know it's not like that, it even looks like now that both the club and Griffin knew this before Griffin was even appointed.

I don't know it's not like that, and I think you are hoping it's not like that. It's not that you know for sure.

Re: is the master coming home

We should just give griffin the job for next season

Re: is the master coming home

Does anyone have a feeling Bennett will do what he did to the Roosters and pull out at the last minute, because someone from the roosters let it slip he was going there?

Thats if he is coming to us anyway.
