BHQ Countdown: Most Loved/Least Liked Players Reveal thread

None of them can be compared though. No other player ever dived out of the way of danger like that bitch.
Cobbo literally did this a few weeks ago and the BHQ Universe is defending him hahaha

I was about to ask how I could be the only fucker who went #1 on Hodgo. You lazy *****. He could have been #1 outright on the BHQ list (not just the list in my heart).

So, not to ruin it for everyone, but...

3. Lazarus
2. Webcke
1. Lockyer
?

I can think of 4 players who should be in the top five that haven't appeared yet.

Three are in Morkel's list.

Alfie was my childhood idol. From the first time I saw Rugby League, Alfie was my boy. Unreal player, captained us to four premierships, including our first. Still around the club to this day. A loveable larrakin, he is the Broncos.

Around 96 or so, I really lost my love for Rugby League and even didn't watch a lot of Broncos games. While I still watched, I was definitely a casual fan at the time. Alfie coming back from England to dominate origin was that catalyst for me being a big fan again.

Ben Barba was shit.

Alf is one of the greatest players to ever lace a boot, nevermind in the Halfback position. Everytime he had the ball in hand it was like he was weaving some sort of magic. Best short grubber in the history of the game, and used his size to make some very big men look very stupid.

The fact that Johns is an Immortal while the likes of Alf and Lockyer aren't should tell you all you need to know about what a joke the concept is now.

So happy I got to see Alf play origin live at least once.

I thought Ben Barba was a bit high in the hate list.

If Alfie wasn't playing for us we would have lost most of our premierships, champion player lives and breathes for the club and is the broncos and Qld's 14th man on the field today even.

The best part about this, apart from the obvious win, was a good friend of mine was one of those 'only watches league during Origin' types and supported NSW. As did her whole family. All the jibes about wheeling out Alfie in his wheelchair etc etc were so very worth it when I watched the game with them. Glorious.

Yeah I had a job at the time that had a LOT of down time and no smart phones or anything in 2001 so I read about four different newspapers every day and the dismissive nature of the media made me so mad, so I was so happy to see Alf make them eat their words.
