Sort of. He refused to name names of clubs remember. I wonder who he could have possibly been talking about.
Well that's it: he's definitely not getting the Godfather job.He’ also saying in a roundabout way that if he were here we wouldn’t lose tpj, lodge, milf etc.
I hope you’re right but a win against the sharks isn’t enough for me to get too excited. Thankfully we’ve got another easier game after but then it’s back to the riff and roosters etc. If we show some backbone against them I’ll start feeling more optimistic.I feel like our club is finally starting to move in the right direction and have finally started to appear as though they can move on from Bennett and I'm thinking Benny doesn't particularly like it.
Cleary and Luai will be back just in time for that game. You can absolutely guarantee that'll be our luck.I hope you’re right but a win against the sharks isn’t enough for me to get too excited. Have you read this?We have always had clubs like that, the game was never this bad. The rules have eroded the contest out of the game, theres no battle for field position, it's all possession. One of the best things about rugby league was the ability for teams to tactically speed it up when they smell blood or slow it down when under pressure. Lockyer was a master at it. That's all gone, there's no more kicking for touch because the scrum is gone. It resembles touch more than rugby league. Try's were celebrated because they were rare, now they are monotonous, often scored just running through a gassed line. The fabric of the game is gone and because V'landys is a protected species the media are bending over backwards blaming everything & anything for the state of the competition except him. Bennett has V'landys ear, hes done the sell for him before around the high contact crackdown farce, he also needs expansion to happen or hes looking at being without a club next year.
Sure, if you ignore the replies to your question. So, for the sake of clarity , no one knows what agenda, if any that WB has.
Surely even the NRL don't want blowouts every second game. It's pretty fucking obviosu to me what the "intent" of the rule changes were. The complete ability for games to be controlled remotely and to an agenda. Removing one of the refs, introducing rulings that happen so quickly there is zero scrutiny able to be applied via replays, and putting unprecedented conrol in to the hands of the bunker does exactly what the NRL wants - to control games and make sure the teams that they deem as strategically important succeed.
All good, fair points. So, for the sake of clarity , no one knows what agenda, if any that WB has.
I think too many attribute to Bennett a twisted version of his intent. I think he's a complex individual but I don't think he's this maniacal megalomaniac that so many seem to believe. People with massive egos don't shy away from the media yet WB only does what he must and then with extreme reluctance. After he's gone many will find out he's done so much more for the less fortunate than we'd ever have guessed ( according to what I've been told by what I'd describe as an elderly yet powerful former backroom dealer)
If WB has something to say about rugby league we would do well to hear him out WITHOUT starting from a shit viewpoint. Instead of deciding you know better first.

Mmm, there's a difference between a complaint(criticism) and an agenda.Sure, if you ignore the replies to your question.
Not disagreeing here but your last line absolutely supports my contention that image and reality can be and are different in WBs case. He was never happy in the spotlight and that's way different to being a narcissist, a power driven personality or indicative of an inflated ego. WB adapted, was in truth forced to adapt to a public persona and through repetition became a master. Doubtless he received advice along the way and being an intelligent man knew he didn't know it all and took useful advice on board. All good, fair points.
However I would add that I believe Bennett doesn’t particularly shy away from the media.
Indeed, I am of the understanding he has strong relationships with certain media personalities and very much uses these relationships, and the platform that these people have, to his advantage.
I actually think he’s spent a long time cultivating a well manufactured image as a media recluse, when in reality it is no more that, an image.
FMD, at this rate you will be extending the latex room. Not disagreeing here but your last line absolutely supports my contention that image and reality can be and are different in WBs case. WB's outer shell was formed largely through necessity. I believe a lot of what we fans see is a WB construct built specifically to protect himself and further I believe he realised he could protect(shield) others. Hence the relationship with media types. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer still. What better way to control the narrative? I still think he's a very private man with a generous heart. I think I'd be proud if I could call him, a mate.
It's far more frequent than every second game.Surely even the NRL don't want blowouts every second game.
