Don't get me wrong i'm sure there is some sort of strategy with his manager talking like this to the press, but for all we know it is simply trying to put pressure on Gee and White to give him a increased contract.
Agreed managers do have their own motives and I'd say this started by Hoffman being disappointed in most likely losing his favored position. And I think he had every right to be annoyed at Hodges, can you imagine someone at the Storm or Manly coming out like that in the media. As much as I dislike them you can't say they don't have strong team culture.
Either way it doesn't matter at all this is being blow out of proportion a bit. What matters is what he does next season, and if this season is anything to go by he's going to stick his head down and keep scoring tries.
