Just send out some our U20s! [icon_lol1.

I know it was a joke - but even that's not an option

"We're waiting on a further test from Karmichael to confirm or otherwise if he's got swine flu or not.

"If he has, our entire squad, that's the first grade and under-20 squads, will be put into 72-hour isolation and commence treatment with Tamiflu.

Let the Comets or someone run out....that'd be entertaining [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1.

So when do we find out if it will be cancelled or not, tomorrow morning?

I'm away this weekend so will miss the game so would love to see it rescheduled.
Pretty sure we will see it rescheduled to a mid week game later in the season (well after SOO) if it is cancelled, or even to Monday night maybe, so 2 Monday night games this week maybe.

Do you think Channel 9 will broadcast it? I will be seriously pissed if it becomes a foxtel game

I'd assume that they would have to broadcast it.

They'll be campaigning for it not to be postponed though. I honestly can't see the game not going ahead.

yeah it will go ahead on Friday night and we will get absolutely flogged by the Dogs, 1 training session this week is a joke.

The proper thinkg to do would be to change it to Sunday or Monday but Channel 9 runs the game and they wouldnt be able to handle having to broadcast 2 games on Sunday and Monday night channel 9 forget it they wouldnt cancel there monday shows sea patrol and some other crap for NRL no way !!!!

Very bad management by the powers that be on display right here. Who's fault is it? Qld Health? NRL? Bruno?

As far as I've heard, its QLD health pushing for the clubs to do it.

They won't cancel it.

No, but if we play we'll get killed...Hunt won't play, and the team has had 1 training run all week...we're absolutely fucked either way.

So if they're in "quarantine" until just hours before the game, will they be able to go to Cyrill's funeral? I dare say they will all be there.

apparently, even if Hunt get cleared the Broncos want the game played on Sunday...

With Brisbane fullback Karmichael Hunt's test results due this morning, the NRL spent yesterday discussing contingency plans amid dialogue with the NSW and Queensland health authorities, while the Broncos are believed to have proposed shifting the match to Sunday, with their entire playing group still quarantined.

NRL chief operating officer Graham Annesley, refused to detail any plans should Hunt test positive to the H1N1 virus, saying the league was determined to play the match as scheduled unless advice from health authorities rendered that impossible.

As Melbourne's Sika Manu became the latest player to be quarantined after displaying flu-like symptoms at training, Hunt remained in isolation. NRL officials have been in discussions with Channel Nine about the ramifications of a positive test for Hunt. However, the league is fearful of spreading panic.

Brisbane officials are known to be loath to play the match on Friday night even if their squad is freed of quarantine obligations before kick-off, as they would have missed almost a week of training. There also remains conjecture over when the players would finish their mandatory 72 hours in isolation.

It just depends how retarded the Qld government is. It's them who can forbid the game from going ahead. The NRL have too many people pressuring them to play to allow that to happen.

How can you be so sure we will beat a red hot Bulldogs team with no training?

Thirdly, i have flights, accommodation and tickets booked for Friday's game.

That's why you get Insurance.

Oh shit you're so right! [eusa_doh Next time I will make sure I get insurance on these sort of things and pay shit loads more just in case the next time I go up to the a Broncos game at Suncorp it might get called of because of a Swine Flu pandemic.......................

Lucky you saved your money Rock, cause insurance companies aren't paying out for this kind of thing. We are in discussions about whether we cancel the nationals in a few weeks and have found out that none of the state's insurances companies is going to cover the flight and accommodation costs if it does get cancelled because of the Swine Flu - so then the arguement is becoming who is going to reimburse all the other states - us as the hosts or the National Organisation as the overall sactioning body? If it gets cancelled, it will come down to who is deemed to have cancelled it - and they will be responsible for reimbursing everyone's costs.

So Rock if game gets called off and you don't come up to Brissie anyway - you'd have to put in a claim against NRL or Broncos or Qld Health (whoever actually makes the decision) to try and get reimbursement. Another reason why I don't think it will get cancelled - it could be a financial disaster.

There is no way the Government would pay out for this sort of thing. It's in the interest of public safety.

Insurance wouldn't help unless you were put in hospital because of it.
