NEWS Corey Oates cleared of compound fracture

WTF was doing with his leg then?
An online video shows his right leg getting jammed between his left leg and the defender as they rolled in the tackle.

Seems Oates caught himself with his own studs.

Talk about summing up the whole performance in one action [emoji2955]

It was actually really nice play from Hopoate, I think it was, in the lead up to this. I couldn't believe Oates didn't score. Great to hear he's going to be alright.

So happy for Corey. There's something kind of profound in that much of his recent form is attributable to a malaise at the club. The fact that his career might have ended in a freak accident as a result of a positional shift from a coach struggling to find any direction and it appears authority is notable. That would have been a terribly bitter pill to swallow.
A plate in his femur may well have ended his career, that would have been a terrible tragedy. So I'm very happy to hear it's not as bad as initially thought.

He has been calling for a 2nd row switch for a number of years to boost his contract value.

Yea, don't know if anyone saw, but Oates was interviewed on Sunday Footy Show last week. He was asked about his ideal position and said he sees himself as a 2nd rower, and does not want to play wing anymore and was jumping at the chance for 2nd row long term.

I agree, think he has done OK since the move and reckon days of wing should be over.

On a side note, the other interesting thing to come out of the interview was that prior to the Bulldogs match, TPJ had been pleading with Siebold to play Front Row for many weeks but Siebold refused to move him up front.

Its pretty ridiculous how wingers still have to move away to try to boost their value when they are so important these days. Centres probably get more and do maybe half the work.

Except in defense.... they have a tough gig there

Wow, even the Broncos medical staff is incompetent.

How the **** do you misdiagnose a welt as a compound fracture?

Unnamed

I’m no doctor, but it looked more like a super-gnarly tag cut to me.

Not sure how someone could stand up and play a ball with a snapped bone sticking out of their thigh either.

Hope I’m right, would be a much better outcome than a compound fracture.

Not qualified, but will consider the job if offered 😂

FFS, well now we know even the medical staff in this joint are hopeless. Were they just listening to the commentary and just winging it?

Great news for Corey nonetheless.

It's never official until the doctor says it is.

And let me assure you, the Doc is calling it on Seibold.

@Sproj Told ya lol
