Corey Parker appreciation thread

 @ some of the comments about Parker not being origin material.

McGuire is certainly not just clubman material given his work in games 1 and 2.

In fairness, AP was talking about Casey.

He loves Moose, can't get enough of him.

I'll put my hand up, I didn't think Parker was Origin material for the longest time. Despite winning the 2009 Paul Morgan award, his form didn't impress me that much and it wasn't until 2010 where I started coming around on the idea.

I was also really concerned heading into the 2010 series with Scott and Shillington upfront. I didn't think they could replace Pricey and wasn't really happy with their efforts in the Game 3 dead rubber. Guys...they were just about our best two players that series.

Similar deal with Lillyman in 2011 and to an extent in 2015.

I could keep going.

Casey McGuire played just as many origin games as Josh McGuire has.

Needs 8 more points to be the Bronco's highest point scorer, something if he achieves is well deserved.

So we'll need to score 7 tries for him to achieve that this week.

Lol, to be fair to the old bloke his kicking the best he has since 2010 percentage wise so I don't think we need that many.

Something Andrew Johns said a while back started making me think we underrate his goalkicking too. Johns mentioned how fatigue makes a big factor in goal kicking...and Parker works harder than almost anyone else on the team.

He's got a pretty sweet strike on him, and his accuracy can be spot on.

I think we will eventually see Kahu take over the reigns, but until his 100% certain to start every game, Corey is doing a good enough job.

Corey's kicking game has always been a little patchy. Definatley think he's improved a lot this year and remains consistent.

Still may need to work on his sideline kicks, as they always tend to shave to the right and I hope he is able to counter this.

Easier said than done, but it looks like he's at a point where he strikes them the same way 95% of the time, but just needs to aim a little better.

Lucky for us we have only had the dragons game where we lost from a missed conversion amongst other reaaons *cough vidot, cough!

Never been a big fan of the 'highest ponts scored stat'.

Feels like it needs to be broken up into highest conversion points and highest points from tries..

Hope he's close to 100% for tomorrow. Was watching his offloads in the doggies game again and holy **** he's a freak and a big reason we scored our first try and kept their defenders constantly working overtime.

Channel 9 reckons he rates himself a 40 percent chance, so likely he won't play, Oates into the backrow and Gillett to lock I reckon.

Kahu kicks the ball so gently. More accuracy, but less power that sometimes it doesn't even make the distance. Luckily lately he hasn't had to do particularly long kicks... that I remember at least.
