Hodges out for most of Season! Link included

Yeah, in an ideal world Hodges would have a rest but in this day and age as soon as a player can make a return even playing injured, they will.

Just look at Thurston!

Agree Fozz, but he shouldn't be. He'll be more a hindrance than a help. Just look at Gasnier's first couple of efforts after returning from a 2 year injury.

Agree re. potentially being more of a hindrance, but I think for his mental state he needs to get a game this year. He's been putting in the hard yards all year, and I bet most of that determination has come from the chance to get a few games in and then the finals. Take that away and I'd hate to see what his off season is like...

Thurston seems to be a pretty tough / head strong character tho. I swear some ppl would play with a broken spine if their legs would allow them. The likes of civo, webcke, price, gillie, all play with broken bones etc, its amazing. On the other hand we have players like cooper who seem to need a week off for a broken fingernail lol. I am not sure which bracket hodges falls into, but he has been off with heaps of injuries so im leaning towards the cooper one

I have heard some people mention Hodges might be playing this weekend. Can anyone confirm this or is it just another Wendall Salior rumour who said 10 weeks ago hodges would be back in a couple of weeks!!!

At the end of the Triple M broadcast last night, Sterling said he thought Hodges was due back next week, but he wasn't saying it was 100% fact.

Personally I re-iterate my earlier sentiments that he should just write 2010 off as a season missed and start anew in 2011

I kind of agree. I just think he could bring that extra something that we will need. Especially when he hasnt played all year, could be very Enthusiastic and get the boys on the front foot with some good kick chases. His presence on the field would be good for some of the younger guys who havent played with him yet.

On the flipside, the fact he hasn't been there all year work against the team - as you said he would never have played with a lot of these young guys, so there will be no type of combination or on-field understanding. His playing could just cause further disruption to the team.

He has played with all of them besides Gillet, and Dodds hasnt he? Im just thinking about how deverstating our right edge could be with Thaiday, Hodges and Yow Yeh and then how deverstating our left edge will be with Gillet, Folau and butter fingers!

I dont think he would have any trouble slotting straight back in. His match fitness wouldnt be good at all, maybe if he is fit chuck him on the bench and have Glen start at Centre. With 30mins to go let Hodges come into the game and find his way back.

Its not even confirmed he is playing yet so this is all just in theory atm!

He won't be back at all this year IMO. I don't think they'll risk rushing him back

He'll play when the medical staff say he is physically OK and Hodges himself wants to play.

Which realistically should be next season.

Has he started running properly at training yet ?

Define "properly"? He's running straight lines at 80% pace or thereabouts and doing some agility training in the sandpit (last I saw).

That's all i needed to hear.

Any sort of running after an injury like that would be a huge step.

I hope he can get back on the field sometime this year, but i won't be willing to put money on it i'm afraid [icon_frown

That footage is actually 6 weeks old...
