International Cricket 2012/13

I find it funny that the selectors want to rest Starc. I think some serious questions would have been asked of the current selection panel if they had of not won the first test against Sri Lanka. Starc was a strong reason why we won that test.

This whole rotation/resting of players is bullshit. It's a test match, you put your best players available on that field.

No doubt Johnson will get injured and show what a farce it is. Starc had a week off FFS!!

Action packed day.

Great fielding from the Australians, those catches from Huss and Wade belong on the classic catches reel. Bowling was OK, but fielding and poor Sri Lankan batting made it look better than what it was.

Australians currently going along comfortably, but really shouldn't be 3 down. All stupid shots/choices. Clarke/Watson have settled things down a bit, really hope both go onto make some big runs.

How many hundreds is that now for Clarke in 2012? Awesome effort from him, love the way he's responded since that disappointing Ashes campaign.

Where are all those critics of rotation - would a weary Starc have been as effective as Johnson or Bird?

It is only Sri Lanka, but the selectors deserve a pat on the back. They have been vindicated.

Most line up to deliver deserved brickbats for a stinking selection or decision. Similarly, they deserve bouquets when something comes off. Hindsight is the only way to assess their decisions - they made a good one here.

20/20 hindsight there m1c, nice one :001_rolleyes:

It's not like he was against it in the first place, but he was speaking out of turn, as only you, AP and CF are allowed to have opinions... He should have read the rules

The way our bowlers get injured rotation is necessary, and it allows our depth to get experience. Without rotation bird would get thrown in the deep end at a crucial time which is not a good thing.
