Did anyone actually believe the Broncos could win the premiership this season?

I can't think of one major publication who believed we could go all the way. In fact, a few were going out on a limb to say the side would miss the 8 altogether.

Brisbane lived up to expectations, especially when you consider the disruptions right at the death.

Who uses publications as a measuring stick for anything? What a bizarre benchmark.

After a post like that I am not sure you should be criticizing Rothfield.

Every side has its advantages and disadvantages.

The TV viewings is circular, the more you are on tv, the more fans you will get, the higher your ratings will be. Canberra would be one of the lowest rating sides on tv now, but that wasnt the case in the early 90s, its just what happens after you get left of tv schedules for 20 years.

The NRL should always show the best product (best game) on TV to attract people to the game, not go for short term ratings, which is what the channel nine does. I am sure this will start to change a little bit as the NRL takes more control of the tv schedule.

To compare yourself to melbourne is farcical, in an AFL city competing with 10 odd other AFL franchises to an NRL city which has one other garbage AFL franchise.

Ask any businessman where would you prefer to open a new RL franchise melbourne or brisbane 9/10 would tell you brisbane.

I agree brisbane do more travelling then Sydney sides, but so does every outside of sydney side.

NZ squad isnt better then brisbanes. Brisbane has a very very good squad (imo like canberra) and imo like canberra this year they fell short on coaching. Atleast they didnt fall as far short as canberra did.

The people there don't have a team, the only team that gets reported on is the local team whereas Sydney teams and Melbourne all get air time in Brisbane. You live in Sydney I'm guessing? And yes, the New Zealand spine is better then our spine with origin and New Zealand reps sprinkled around them. It is a better squad, they were tipped to win or come close to winning this year on the back of that. People looked at our squad and tipped us to miss the 8.you have short memory...

We were 1 win from the GF ! Up against a team that will be regarded as one of the best. How can you say we fell short?? You guys were regarded as favourites and yet couldn't make the 8 , that's falling short.

If u read the last para of my post you would see that i mentioned u guys dod a shedload better then us.

Obviously i would have preferred the season u guys had and from my last para that is abundantly clear.

The warriors have never had a better list then the broncos at the start or the end of 2017.

Regardless of where ppl placed the sides the warriors list started worse and remains worse then the broncos.

With who the broncos have lost in 2018 and gaining jack the bird they still have a better list then nz in 2018.

2 - I responded to that "you inferred that they had no advantages?", maybe you didnt mean to infer it but you did. To give oyu an example that you would understand.

If a mother says to her child - you have all the advantages in this world to succeed.

The child responds with, "what advantages do I have?" there is an inference by the child that they have no advantages , they are so confident in that they are happy to challenge you to point any of them out for him.

I trust the above clears it all up for you.

I agree with this view on our coaching, I also agree with whoever said Bennett needs to have more faith in our depth / young guys.

How does one expect Bennett to coach them to play in an entertaining manner when players can't catch a football? At the start of the season we were trying to play pretty entertaining footy but making far too many easy errors so maybe Bennett did coach it out of them, for the better.

I still didn't say NO advantages. I was "inferring" everyone gets them, so why does rothfield go on about it.... ps. If you can't handle a discussion like an adult, don't claim the other person is a child...
