Michael Ennis

I gave him the benefit of the doubt on the chicken wing. Friday night was blatant. Very disappointing.

I knew you of all people wouldn't be happy with BS like that icon_thumbs_u

so what happens in the grand final with no time remaining and we're 2 points behind. Ennis has the ball and gets a high shot that can be classed as play on. Are we all going to say get up and play it or stay down to kick a penalty and be in with a chance to win the grand final?

Years ago you were called sneaky that you got 1 past the ref. now theres no room for players like that. Not saying its right but its been in the game for longer than these last 2 years.

I can't remember any genuine divers past the this generation of players. In terms of the GF at the time I probably wouldn't care how we won the game due to the euphoria of the moment but looking back the next day I would be dirty at him just like I was angry at the refereeing in the 06' Grand Final because it detracted from our performance as the better side, with people saying the Storm were robbed when in truth they had chances and we outplayed them.

I don't like gamesmanship. I hate milking penalties. I won't excuse it just because it's the Broncos. I could believe the chicken wing, that would hurt. But the tap on the jaw? Please.

I'm with you Coxy - our game is a tough game, played mostly by tough men who shouldn't be out there looking for penalties. The game can be blamed for the excessive amount of gamesmanship IMO - If players knew that unless the ref sees it it's play on then there wouldn't be the amount of acting we see in the game today. The running into players thing - especially the first one on Friend - were just dumb things to do and I thought the first one could have quite easily gone against us. All Ennis had to do was look how far both Boyd and Wallace were in front of the chasers - there was no chance either player was going to be run down.

The game has bred a culture of lying down because of its dependancy on technology - no doubt Ennis milked the penalty for the high shot on Friday night but plenty of other NRL players would do it. Individual players stick to their own culture of getting up and playing on - guys like Webcke, Petero, Lance Thompson, Thorn would never lie down. It's not just Ennis who milks penalties for the Broncos though - plenty of our guys stay down if they get hit and it really annoys me but they are not Robinson Crusoe. They do it because the game allows them to.

Frankly, I don't give a stuff.

He got hit high and that's a penalty.

Maybe Ennis wanted a brief nap. So what.

I can't believe everyone missed Princes dive haha, it was out of the soccer textbook. He pretended his legs were taken out... watch it closely, I was in stitches.

Yeah many did mention it.It was something from Swan Lake.
Don't know what all the talk is about cos it was never going to have an affect on the try even if Prince tried to milk a penalty it still wouldnt have stopped the try.
I don't like that Ennis has a new name of "Sleeper"now though [icon_wink

What Ennis does is niggling and no worse than what Hodgo does on the field, only Hodgo laughs and points at the crowd when he gets away with it & everyone knows and loves it (except the opposition fans) but Ennis pretends he didn't dive and is all class, he should get up and make himself more likeable.

Everyone knows he dove, he just needs a few more acting lessons to get away with it. For eg. Lesson #1, when you are hit in the head go down and stay down, don't look around to see what's happening. Jarryd Hayne would be able to give him a few pointers.

Someone said was there video footage of him winking..... and yes there was and yes he winked his ass off.

I am scared that he's going to get us into trouble one day cos of his dirtiness but I don't want him dumped off the team.

Prince's dive was classy too....his was a little more polished than ennis's attempt.

At least Ennis doesn't pretend to be drowning at the beach, just to get on TV.

Like Prince did.

Prince didn't take a dive, he added some theatrics to his fall. He didn't stay down and pretend to be knocked out either, unlike ol' mate Ennis.

Ennis on the other hand, takes dives and takes attacking players out.

He stood his line. Hardly took him out. If you can't see that you're just plain retarded.

Well, he got hit aaround the chops, and as I said, that's a penalty. He didn't milk it, he wanted a rest.

And as for taking out attacking players, if you are referring to his collision with Prince the Hamlet of Halves, I agree with the commentators: Ennis was running a line and was entitled to keep it.

He didn't take Prince out but he let Prince run into him and then looked like he had been shot by a sniper going down, he made a meal of it and almost cost us a try at a crucial moment of the game. He could have easily avoided Prince but is clearly in his nature to engage in these types of niggling parts of the game, he is a knob plain and simple and it almost cost us.

Haha, are you guys crazy?? Watch the replay again... and again if you have to. Prince took a massive dive, I know a dive when I see one. Ennis might have been running shoulder to shoulder, but Princes fall was completely deliberate..

Go watch again, before you tell me otherwise.
