@gusgould91: Sorry sight Jamie Soward leaving stadium in moon boot today. Injured ankle at training. Rehab period to be determined. Up you go Isaac John!

Twitter and news seem to be going into overdrive about "sad" news that Hasem El Masri has split with his wife. My question is, is this really newsworthy? Is it any of our business? Would it be newsworthy if it was some white Anglo player?

Erghhh..

Jesus, can you imagine being one of his staff at 2GB.

Irony at its best Ray Hadley condemning violence when he is known for physically intimidating his staff with threats of violence.

This isn't really NRL discussion but it involves Rugby League in Australia and I've never heard of anything like this happening in Rugby League anywhere else.

I read this old article online this afternoon about the 'biggest no-shows" in sport. In this list it was mentioned in the last round of the 1997 ARL season the Sydney City Roosters had sealed a spot in the finals and for the last home and away game against North Sydney, the Roosters withdrew 14 players from the top grade squad. The ARL reacted with fury and the Roosters only rested 7 players and won 29-20.

I know teams with a finals spot sewn up rest top line players but resting 14 is insulting, over the top and ridiculous, has this happened anywhere else in Rugby League?.

At least one of my favourite's made the list. Why did the English rugby team even bother turning up here in 1998

Early signs are it could be a long season for the Dragons.

Their forward pack is absolutely horrendous. Outside of Merrin the rest are just shitty, or mediocre at absolute best (only De Bellend shows promise)

Dragons coach must be a clown. Kyle Stanley as a bench hooker?? Mitch Rein blows every attacking chance the Dragons gets by running the ball himself. They are in for a long year.

Josh Dugan could miss the start of the season with medial ligament damage in his knee.
