He is probably the reason for their salary cap issues. They probably thought they signed Kieron.
yeh hes no good, not like hes scored 150 tries in about 160 games. im sure that one game youre watching is clearly indicative of how he'll go over here.Watching the ESL Wigan vs Leeds, I still reckon Tomkins will get destroyed over here... Time will tell I guess. Seems to be allergic to the ball in this game

Aside from being rag dolled by Tallis in origin, Brett Hodgson was tiny but was a great player, same as Ben Hornby and Preston Campbell.
Yeah he has scored tons of tries in the ESL... In other news Luke Capewell has been a star his whole career in Q cup, man the panthers are gonna dominate with him next year, so jelly
What the ESL has that the NRL doesn't have (well, except Parra), is half of the comp made out of absolutely crappy teams, who would be pushovers in FOGS, and leave ginormous holes in their lines where a quick guy like Tomkins slips through easily. He scores tons of tries against those teams, but more often than not, barely makes a dent against the top ESL teams. He has scored a crap load of try's so he must touch the ball eventually.
I still can't believe he is only about 79kg's, you would think he will get absolutely hammered over here in the NRL but its not like the ESL doesnt have any big boppers so he must handle it somehow. Massive kudos to someone giving up 25kg+ and still having a crack.
I for one am excited to watch him play, i think its great to see the likes of James Graham, the Burgesses and previously Gareth Ellis/Morely and now Tomkins in the NRL. I hope the top ESL players continue to test themselves in the NRL.

I can see him performing at Hodgson level in the NRL at best, which is okay, but nowhere near worth the money they're paying him, and certainly not even close to what some people expect...
That seems like a strange comparrison.
Did you compare James Graham to Nick Slyney when the Dogs signed him?
I must have been asleep the year that Slyney won the Q-Cup player of the year award ;)
If you need further proof that the ESL makes mediocre spine players look like champions, Scott Dureau will answer any questions you have once he comes down from the clouds.
FFS, i've never said that the ESL is a great comp or that Tomkins is going to carve up the NRL. When did i ask for any proof that the ESL makes mediocre spine players look like champions?
All i stated was Tomkins must touch the ball at some stage in games to score try's. Then i added he is a light player and my props to him for competing against men 25+kg's and then i said i was excited to see how he would perform.
Morkel, feel free to cherry pick more dud names from the ESL to provide evidence to questions that i have not asked nor really give a **** about.
im sorry but did you watch many games this season? half the teams in the NRL were absolutely crappy this year. newcastle finished 7th with a 50% win rate. that shows how crappy the competition is. the teams ranked 6-16 were basically falling over each other to try and miss the finals. What the ESL has that the NRL doesn't have (well, except Parra), is half of the comp made out of absolutely crappy teams
