This has just turned in a way to bag out Brisbane. We can afford to pay more than other clubs for players, we have a bigger nursery so why do we have to constantly be held back by poor clubs and whiners. We have massive advantages but are not allowed to use them. So when we take advantage of some players who want to come, we are the bad guys. What a load of rubbish!!

What's the go with the "entitlement" claim? What a load of shit.

Haha the same entitlement crap Gordie was going on about.

As I've previously mentioned Broncs ignore pleas for help from schools then when the schools sign with other clubs the broncs go back to those schools whinging that they aren't sending their players to them, they feel just because schools are in the Brisbane area they should send to them despite their unwillingness to help. Ie sense of entitlement without providing any support

Brisbane can offer things no other club can especially a club like the Raiders, corporate support, chance to be on TV every Friday night (big thing for ego driven kids), family is definitely a factor though.

A club that hopes to have Barba, Milf, DCE, Smith on top of the rest of their rep players simply doesn't work off the same playin field and cap as the rest of the comp

Lol, every player is on tv every week, its called Foxtel. Young players dont give a **** if their mates watch them on Ch 9 or Foxsports.

You can keep telling yourself that Broncos have this massive advantage if that is what helps you sleep at night but realistically, getting Barba (non rep player) and Milford (non rep player) barely puts on equal terms with the current top 4 teams, if that.

We have already told Hannant he is looking at a 200k contract drop to stay with us next contract, we also let Ben Teo go last year when we wanted to keep him but were trying to juggle 5 backrowers into 3 spots so something had to give. If your fables of our ability to "offer what no other clubs can" were true Teo would be starting from the bench and Hannant would not be looking at the option of leaving the club.

Manly along with the Storm have been the best team over the last half dozen seasons. If they cannot afford to pay DCE as much as we offer then the salary cap works. The whole idea is to spread out the talent, Manly have a lot, we not so much, over the course of time something has to give.

The whinging of Canberra supporters would be better directed at their own club. The Matt Orford disaster, purchasing Berrigan well past his best, stickign with McCrone, not having strong leadership to keep Dugan and Ferguson on the rails, big contract for a broken down Campese. I'm sure these are also related to Brisbane...

So Andrew Gee spends half of his time going to Brisbane high schools and complaining to them that some former students didn't end up at the Broncos?

When have the Broncos complained about not getting the best Brisbane talent? Milford was snapped up by the Raiders when he was 13, which isn't bad recruiting by the Broncos, just good recruiting by the Raiders. Besides, we still have plenty of Brisbane-raised players - Corey Parker, Jharal Yow Yeh, Jack Reed, Corey Oates, Josh McGuire, Matt Gillett, Ben Hunt, Lachlan Maranta (unfortunately) and Andrew McCullough.

It would be ridiculous to say that we have missed out on all of the good Brisbane and Queensland talent. Apart from Glenn, Kahu, Hoffman and Reed, every player at the Broncos is a Queenslander.

But hold on. It was only a few months ago, the Raiders were whinging about the Broncos signing up every young kid in town.

Now, we just ignore them, apparently.

So let me get this straight .... the Broncos spending millions developing young players is a bad thing.

I certainly hope that he doesn't really believe that. Because if every club took that view league would be in a very poor state.

What will likely end up happening is the Broncos will spend the money developing these kids, only to lose them to bigger offers from down south. The same thing that used to happen to us.

A few mates who have worked at Raiders aligned schools in Brisbane, Clairvoux for example tried for years to get the Broncs support before signing up with the Raiders, man the Broncs had a good whinge when that happened.

Heresay and rumour does not make a good discussion. Unless all facts are on the table your mates are unfortunately as bised as anyone.

Isn't that 90% of what footy forums are including articles from so called journos?

That's true. But most people don't state something as if it is undeniably fact, and when questioned how they know this respond with "my mates said purple monkey dishwasher"
