[Official] - Milford signs with Broncos

Oh FFS, not again the same story...

Regardless, what difference does it make whether he offloads from prop or lock?

apparently offloads don't count if you make them early in the tackle count

I think it makes a difference because when a prop offloads its usually in the middle of the field, with the defence still surrounding the area, whereas if its a bit wider there can be a bit more space. I also think parker is offloading less because he is usually greeted by more defenders playing prop. Could be wrong, but I definitely think he is not making the same impact at prop

He has only made 3 less offloads than last year. You could put that down to not playing a whole 80 on a weekly basis.

Exactly - that's my point. You guys keep crowing about how he plays exactly the same regardless of the number on his back or position and it makes no difference. If that's the case, why the positional change?

If he is offering the exact same impact, why switch him from his preferred position? It seems like the Broncos are being too smart by half.

Seriously?

Could it be because we have a group of quality second rowers, but are a bit lacking in the prop department? I'm just throwing an idea out there... :noidea:

Parker has the most Offloads in the NRL this year

Let's just be clear. Parker is an absolute champion.

His offloads are very useful, however we fail to use his abilities properly. I am sure 90% of his offloads are received by guys in stationary positions. It's good for an extra 5-10m which is great but we never seem to support him with runners.

This is one area where the Warriors do it so much better. A flying SJ or Tomkins to offload to instead of a stationary Macca.

Really dont understand why either. We have Barba FFS

Yeh i just read and stand corrected about his offloads being down, but I am not noticing them as much as previously and its probably because of what ari said:

Great point. We dont use them. Barba should be running at full speed onto his offloads, but instead they just go to a stationary player who runs back into the defence. In previous seasosn we have used an offload to go wide, but not this year. In fact, i cant remember the last time vidot or copley got the ball from a solid backline movement started by an offload.

The other thing I don't get too is why Hoffman isn't running onto them. Shaun Johnson and Daly Cherry-Evans do fantastic jobs of backing up offloads and running to advantage. Hoffman is only ever good for running so if there's one thing he can do well from the #6 it's support like a #1. But nope, he ***** that up too.

This. Parkers offloads were capitalized on. The team were waiting for them and it provided countless attacking opportunities. Our team never does which is ludicrous we have have 26 games a year to get it right. The 3 less offloads are probably from missing games

Parker's offloads are basically used as an extra hit up.

QLD used them a lot more effectively in game 3.

That, and Johnson and Tomkins are a lot quicker and accelerate a lot faster than Todd Lowrie who seems to be the one receiving them. Also teams know Parker will offload and have defenders marking up on players who could receive the ball. Someone like Granville (Is he our fastest player?) needs to be backing up.

Granville would be right up there in terms of acceleration.

I reckon Hunt has a nice turn of speed as well. That move he put on Idris/Soward on Monday was ridiculously impressive. Probably my favourite try of the year, next to the tunnel ball try.
