[Official] - Milford signs with Broncos

Vidot is only 23, he can still come good.
No doubt, he does need a lot of work though, my points been more dont count his signing as some big coup he should be more considered as depth signing in which case it's not a bad one.

His welcome here, it may not be what everyone wants to hear on the forum, but his not been extreme or abusive in what he has said to the point of warranting such a move and until such time as he has, then he has the right to be here, bronco fan or not.

We don't ban people for their club affiliation, and even less as any type of censure, even if that is what happens on other sports forums.
We welcome other people's point of view and as long as the discussion is civil, no one in this forum will ever be banned for their opinion or belief!

Bushman, Worm, Papabear and our other club affiliated members have the same rights and duties as anyone else on this forum, and I really don't wanna hear another request to silence them.

Now can we please return to the topic at hand?

Fans of other clubs posting here just for match discussion while adding the issues at our club from their club's POV is absolutely fine in my book. Opposition fans posting on here just to talk us down or heap shit on us aren't welcome like that Brisbane Bombers dude.

A lot of us are dubious on Ricky has a mixed bag in the coaching stakes, but he is highly thought of within the league community just not by the fans. What he can bring to the Raiders though is passion, defence and discipline, 3 things we've been sorely missing, and hey it could be worse we could have Hook.
A mixed bag of shit

That's always been his MO, Parra is a really hard one to judge him by, previous years wooden spooners who he then ****ed up royally by tellin half of them they weren't wanted, very poor judgement and was always going to have a major effect on morale and effort. In his previous coaching history defence was always top notch though and he pioneered the way teams defend now days when he coached the Roosters.
He is guilty of poor judgement again in his short time in the role as head coach of the raiders.

So someone hurts his leg once and it's considered a bung leg and not worth looking at despite being recognised as one of the best young talents in the game, yep if you say so:laugh:

Conveniently missed the second half of my post as usual and yes others would have looked at him, whoever said they wouldn't?

Stuarts only objective for 2014 is to avoid another wooden spoon.

Bushman, you can't seriously believe that all this bad press about how the Raiders are treating Milford won't affect their ability to recruit from outside the club.

In Stuart world, he didn't win the wooden spoon this year, it was everyone else's fault, he's the Canberra coach.

Hooks been around the traps long enough mate and look how other rookie coaches have performed, he's a dud. I'm not a fan of Ricky's recent record and I was against signing him but I can a few potential benefits. Out of all the things Broncos fans can bag us out for though a poor coach ain't really one in comparison to your own.

You mean Hook the guy who took us to a prelim in his first season? Comparing him with Maguire and Robinson who did the same and better means they must be duds too. But hey, this is. Canberra thinking and they rate Stuart so that says it all .

Wighton is a great young player, would have loved him at the Broncos but I really hope he finds his feet at the Raiders. Has the potential to be a superstar and plays the game very tough.

In fact, I was writing up their expected line up for a seperate thread I'm in the process of creating and really they don't have a bad side on paper.

Canberra Raiders
1. Anthony Milford
2. Reece Robinson
3. Jarrod Croker
4. Jack Wighton
5. Edrick Lee
6. Terry Campese
7. Mitchell Cornish
8. David Shillington
9. Glenn Buttriss
10. Dane Tilse
11. Joel Edwards
12. Josh Papalii
13. Shaun Fensom

14. Josh McCrone
15. Mark Nicholls
16. Tom Learoyd Lahrs
17. Brett White

Throw in Paul Vaughan as somebody who can come into that prop rotation without any hassle, and that's a very solid line up moving forward. Of course, the future of Milford remains cloudy and I suspect we'll see some experimentation at dummy half and in the backrow but they could compete for a top eight spot.

Back to Milford, it will be interesting to see how he reacts to the latest articles from the Raiders. It seems like everyone was on the same page until he spoke out and disagreed with the way the Raiders went about their business where they were trying to save face. I think he'll return to Canberra at some point, but the question will be how long he lasts down there.

Oh yeah, I agree. Though I really rated him when he started at Canberra. I would imagine he'd be a starter here though anyway, with Hoffman probably leaving.

I reckon Vaughan has to be in the side, he is a gun.

Heres a question for the raiders fans in this forum, why does it seem like most raiders fans are blasting Milford more than guys like fergo and Dugan? I mean I know you don't like that he's leaving but seriously some of the insults are disgusting.

Anyway what my real question is, by the raiders acting like this what kind of message do you hunk it sends, I mean lets compare.

Fergo and Dugan both greatly disrespect your club, especially Dugan so you guys fire them straight away, which is exactly what they wanted so they can get big money elsewhere.

Milford wants to return home, had a clause inserted with this purpose (granted the wording obviously isn't in his favour but it's clear what the intent was), he requests the release yet still plays his heart out, keeps trying to achieve an amicable result so he can return home cos homesick, yet your club is going to treat him so much harsher than the guys that pissed on your jersey. Milf must be thinking I should of just grabbed some cruisers and have Ricky the finger

I wholeheartedly second that. Anyone is welcome here if they conduct themselves respectfully, I enjoy the discussion it brings.

On topic, I'm intrigued that Ayoub's story doesn't match what was said in the Milford interview. Something doesn't add up there.

Raiders fans were much worse to Fergo and Dugan. Notice the GH board is now named "The Luke Turner Canberra Raiders board" in honor of the guy who won the fight.

Dugan was fired after many instances the latest was the final straw and I think the Raiders learnt a lesson from that when he was allowed to sign with the Dragons meaning he didn't cop any punishment hence why Fergo was reprimanded instead of being sacked for a couple of more offences, when he went AWOL about a month before he could act on his get out clause why wouldn't you sack him he was gone anyway. I think if they had their time again we'd probably see them handling Dugan a bit differently.

I am not that worried if we don't get Milford next season, although it would be nice. I would like to see Strasser have a go and see how good he could be.
