It's just crazy. If both Cowboys and us win our remaining games and the rest of the results has a fairly normal pattern, we will both finish in the 8, Broncos 7th and Cows 8th, with fair chances of upsetting respectively Sharks and Dogs in semis!

Better yet, if the Sharks loose in Canberra and Penrith upsets the Dogs, we could very well finish like this:

5th. Broncos (29 pts)
6th. Cowboys (28 pts, best F/A)
7th. Dogs (28 pts)
8th. Sharks (28 pts)
9th. Knights (27 pts)
10th. Titans (26 pts)

I don't think we have the potential to get to the GF, but if the Cows keep this up, they could be dark horses and do a 2009 Parra!

They aren't, but they're sure as hell better than what the other clubs fighting for 8th have to put up with.

Correct Coxy, all it will do is highlight the mediocrity of the comp below the top 4 sides. 2 sides in the 8 have a negative F & A and the Dogs in 5th are only 59 points to the good which is a long way off any of the top 4. Canberra are in 9th and have minus 122.

What I want to see is us win convincingly in these last games, like actually put a team to the sword, we had a golden opportunity to do so with Parra, but left the door ajar for a comeback, cant afford to do that anymore and itll be good for confidence leading into the finals (if we get there that is)

Yeah @Coxy. Totally agree. The Football Gods have given us a golden opportunity to make the 8. If we win our next 3 we deserve to be there. If we don't, we don't deserve to be there.

I actually think it's less the Football Gods and more the hemi-semi-demi-god Griffin has given us the chance, by axing Norman and putting Hunt at 7 and Hoffa at the back (only option of course).

Since then, the team's energy and focus has lifted measurably. There is, for mine, a rapidly increasing focus, will and a passion to win.

True, Hunt had a poor game v Eels but I am hoping that was a once off. To me, the whole side looked largely disorganized for 65 minutes of that game, but the 15 minutes or so where we put on those 4 tries tells me we are capable of going a long way.

As well, with several GLARING exceptions, we have put on some terrific plays and tries during this season. It seems that all that was needed was to to give the side some shape and direction, which happened when the positional changes were implemented.

Glenn is also due back - a big plus, and Dodds who MUST replace Lui ASAP

All that worries me now is 2 things: poor defensive line speed, inconsistent straight line defence, and missed tackles. Get those right and the sky is the limit. Don't get them right and we will lose all 3 remaining games.

I also think the Cows are a serious dark horse in this comp and they are starting to show the value of their rather excellent roster.

I'm not going to complain if we do make the 8 because that means we've won our last 5 games but I don't see much value at all in getting knocked out in the first week of finals.
