One week is premerships, then it's family, now it's life after footy.
But it was always life after footy, didn't you hear his manager? Even when it was the premiership it was life after footy.

I think the opposite. Corey Oates is hugely popular with the playing group. Payne haas will flog you if you step on his shoes. Give me a choice between keeping palasia, Oates and flegler or haas and I would take the other three.
Agree but for one haas think of all the players we could have kept. Herbie, flegler and now Oates.. all three are better human beings than haas and don't come with the bullshit headlines every 12 months. He'll flog you if you're drunk off your head, being a complete pest and stepping on your shoes.
I would have done the same as him. Kelly is a bastard when he's drunk.
Thats what i took away from the article above, wants to be educated for post football but part of that has to be on him identifying what he wants to do.He might mean qualifications or education opportunities during his current contract and not necessarily being promised a job at the club after.
Feels like angling for a move to the rosters to me. They sent Cronk to Harvard

Was the training to be a barber at one point and giving the boys shit hair cuts? Surely his 7m$ deal isn’t dependent on getting a tafe scholarshipThats what i took away from the article above, wants to be educated for post football but part of that has to be on him identifying what he wants to do.
But what’s stopping him from doing it now? He has the financial capacity to do anything he wants, he doesn’t need the club to hold his hand. All the club can offer is to set him up with mentors or something. He might mean qualifications or education opportunities during his current contract and not necessarily being promised a job at the club after.

It makes no sense to be asking for a job after football when that’s at least a decade away. The broncos also can’t guarantee any job because it would then have to be included on the cap.
It’s really hard to understand what he wants the club to do, usually it’s his manager that would be expected to help him invest his money and provide a plan for his future. Yet, here he apparently expects the club to do it. It’s all very bizarre and sounds like the crap the roosters spin when they sign a marquee player for unders- their board having all these wonderful business connections to “guide” players for their life post football etc. Let’s hope it’s all not just a pretext for signing with the roosters.
We need to be careful signing him that long, because what if we rip him off again?! What a fucken joke that is.Still think Haas is more likely to sign with us than anyone else, this is just media driven nonsense, the amount of money we are offering plus how good we are combined with his family situation, we tick all the boxes.
Union is the most realistic alternative because only they can blow our offer out the water and provide a club in SEQ to play in but no NRL team that is competitive will be able to offer much more than what we have, and the money we are offering isn't even outrageous imo, I think as a percentage given the new cap 1.2 million would still be worth it for us soo long as it means the contract length is long like 5 years.
I am pretty concerned the club have cut Oates wage to make a bigger offer to Haas. I stand by that anything above 1.1 mill is comfortable overs.
There, I fixed it for you.when did you start working for News Corp ... because with an imagination like that, you'd fit right in with the likes ofBadel@McHunt
Are you serious?Payne has never been rock solid in his football commitment to anyone- he was at the Titans and Warriors, played Meninga on the Gold Coast, signed with the Broncos, nearly signed with the Storm. His six-year Broncos deal in 18 is a marvel and I remember Bennett saying it will stop this coming up every 12 months.
