no reason he can't ... except, it would be far more beneficial to him to be playing 80 mins a game in the ISC rather than 10-15 mins in the NRL
He could do a mixture of both. This season is a write off anyway. Why not use it to experiment, build and develop our younger guys.

I don’t think experimenting with your young small build half off the bench as a hooker or roaming lock for short bursts would count as good development for a halfback

I dont either. So I'd hope Kevvie would ensure he only played in the halves.

Look what it did to Ben Hunt.

Predicting Kevie will give the 14 to Gamble as cover for halves/backs. So therefore no room for Oates or Paix. Spine looks set at;
1. Isaako
6. Milford
7. Croft
9. Turpin
Does it?
Since when has Dearden been guaranteed to miss out?

The halback cocktease continues. Oh, and looks like Herbie is out.

Gilly backs Dearden because he's "the future."

I think Arthurs has an ankle injury, well that's what the NRL game preview is saying anyway.

“Brisbane have a culture that Alfie and Kevvie and all the rest of them helped develop and everything I’m hearing from up there is they’re more relaxed with how they’re doing things and that might suit their culture. For Milford, it just has to be about bobbing and weaving, popping up where he needs to be. His best football is still run, run, run and run some more."

“Over the last few years, through the lack of them having a really strong playmaker, they needed a bit more from him as an organiser and it forced him away from his best. That’s where Croft or Dearden come in — you can have the biggest, strongest pack in the world but it’s like having a car with a V8 engine and no steering wheel. You need to have someone in charge.”

Liking the games by Kevvie! If the journos are suckers to think Oates is a chance at centre then its brilliance. If kev is seriously considering him, im worried.
If it is mind games I don’t see what it would achieve? Surely training is better spent practicing what you actually intend to do on game day.

Well the media have hammered us in the past 3 seasons. Kevvie playing game with them, will literally leave them guessing and forcing them not to write crap.

Imagine being Badel with a breaking revelation that Croft is locked and loaded, then 10 mins later Dearden is on field. Theres only so many times they can say "things changed" as a journo before they have to shut their mouth until they get real facts.

Matty is certainly right about that last point. We have been a rudderless ship since Locky retired. Nobody with the guts or fortitude to stand up and take charge. It's been a popularity contest for far too long. That's why we were doing really well when Hodgo was captain because he just did not give a **** about being popular with the playing group.
