Yes, he was staying back as any good winger should in such circumstances, but still covering his man. I'm not overly critical of Tom. It was a good play by the Dogs, Hoppa stepped inside and beat him, end of. I can do stillshots too:

The Storm love our compressed defensive strategy. It's such a shitty strategy I'm amazed we didn't get cut to shreds more often but then the Dogs are a shitty attacking side.

Manly on the other hand have a few players who can exploit that crap defence I can see them running around and through us all night, maybe not as effectively as the Storm, but still enough to cost us points.

Then given we have absolutely no clues about how halves should play and how they ought to be running off each other and putting guns like Roberts into space, it will again be a catch-pass and hope affair.

No, he really didn't. Watch the video again, and you'll see he has Hoppa well covered. He rightfully gave his outside shoulder to Hoppa, but just bumbled the tackle when he was stepped on the inside.

Shit happens, and he shouldn't be crucified for it, but it's his miss to own.

With how we play its difficult for any of our outside backs to get in the game.

He is pretty sound defensively but he is way too slow to be a centre. He is the most lumbering outside back since Daryl Halligan. I'm a fan of the kid and desperately want him to do well but I'm not sure he is up to the standard required.

Exactly the same was said of Reed but now Reed is considered a huge loss.

You're probably on the money there, was just thinking Bennett might reward Offa with a starting spot for the last couple of weeks. He has gone alright lately.
