Round 11 - Bulldogs vs. Broncos - Post Match Discussion

I can't really blame the forwards for getting smashed when there is no decoys or deception of any type around the rucks. Griffin just has them playing too physical a game, the D knows who is getting the ball and we get hammered accordingly.

Those 2 tries on our line were too soft to be true, a good side would have condensed the line but twice we let small guys get isolated, No talk?

We really lack a focal point in attack particularly from dummy half, as big a scummer as Ennis is he knows what he wants to do and has a plan on how to get over the line.

Agree Granville was average tonight but did enough to persist with. When he gets it right his work is crisp and faster than Maccas. At the least it may give Macca a wake up call.

Way too harsh on Macca. I think Macca got the wake up call tonight. He was great.

Please...nobody can blame McCullough for our loss tonight. His service to the halves was fine. It's not like he had a lot of opportunities to give it to them in good position in the 2nd half! Absolute joke to give it to McCullough.

He wans't the reason we lost tonight. The forwards were terrible. But heis passing is abysmal, and he will be one of the main reasons we'll lose in the future, when our forwards are actually doing something but our attack is doing nothing.

didn't have the cattle to match them up front, especially with the weak returns by Norman.

Dogs were all over the ruck and not square at marker, but got away with it.

Morris should have been in the bin for the strip on granville after he was tackled and with the dogs line wide open.

Pritchard scored off a blatant knock on.

We lack the cattle to be a force in the competition and it doesn't look like improving any time soon.

Refs were shit tonight as well. Makes it hard but our pack didn't match the Bulldogs back.

.... and seriously, Norman has absolutely no impact running the ball. Good passing game, no FB

**** me dead, what a horrible defensive effort. Maranta has got to go, denan kemp must be playing some very average football in qcup for this muppet to get selected. He is quite good under the high ball but that's where it ends. Offers nothing in attack. Slow, ampling hit ups and concedes early every time. And that attempt to finish our first scoring chance was poor. For **** sake get down low and have a crack mate, Scott minto would have done a better job. Hodges needs a better finisher outside him.

Hoffman seems to have toughened up immensely this year, used to sook alot last year but has turned that around with strong, hard runs with purpose. Parker is just unreal.

I disagree. He was running out of dummy half and getting his forwards going. You could see tonight he was getting frustrated with Hoffman & Hodges taking his opportunities to gain momentum. If anything, he needs to take more control & push Hodges out & say, "my ball!"

Like I said before, that's not the reason he's shitty.

Fair enough, but I disagree. Macca has had enough years now, he should be taking control of our attack. He has to do more than he is.
I've always been a rap on Macca and he still has his moments but not enough of them. He has flatlined and as yet has failed to take that next step.

Yeah Macca played his heart out again tonight. The one thing Granville brings to the side when he comes on is a nice crisp pass that can hit a man 2 wide of the ruck. My only concern with Granville when he comes on is he always tackles low. Whilst this is good when sides are bringing the ball off their line I think he may be a liability defending on the line.

Full marks for Granville supporting Gillette on that break early in the 2nd half, but where were the backs in support.

Also, I love watching Gillette get into full stride... his running action looks like a guy with legs too long for his body...

Broncos current line-up isn't well setup for wet weather grinding footy. Too many mobile backrowers and not enough big men. Interesting Wallace came on ahead of Anderson??

Macca defended well as per usual. The problem is he can't organize our forwards for shit. Slow service out of dummy half and no vision, urgency or clue.

Yeah not sure how we think making 30 metres with a forward pack like ours then giving it to our halves on the 5th at the 50 metre mark is ever going to end in points

We don't think

Parker was outstanding once again. Our best forward by a mile.

Now to focus on winning at least 3 out of the next 6 to keep the season alive.

Yep, super disappointing from our left side backs. Good sides make some luck and that was a chance to turn that game.

Would have been good if Gillett actually kept running
