Never change.
I knew that your defence would involve Nikorima, I just knew it. The waiting to chest beat is no different to what others have done in regards to Bennett and Boyd, so you certainly can’t take the high road there.
Even you must admit that his attitude looks pretty fucking awful?
In terms of Kodi Nikorima a comparison was never made and obviously Ash Taylor is a better halfback than Kodi, no one was disputing that. Taylor has been blessed with skills Kodi simply doesn’t have. Conversely, if Taylor had half the work ethic and attitude of Kodi he wouldn’t be wasting his talents and looking like a pudgy little toddler while he yells at others for his own mistakes.
I can definitely take the high road. I don't go off on a player (or coach) for a single bad game, not do I praise him to heaven when he has a single great game either.
The comparison to Kodi was made plenty. Please don't make me go through this and the live thread, where some people couldn't get enough of piling it on the kid.
I've said this multiple times, and I will repeat it. I've seen this kid come through the ranks since the U14s or so, working with the team twice a week and going to all the games on the weekend, school and clubwise, so I could say I speak with some authority.
He's pretty smart in that he's quite capable of analysing what went wrong, and be pretty objective about his own performance.
While he would get frustrated like anyone, he was never much of a dickhead on or off the field, and you would never see him give up trying. In fact, I didn't see him give up in this game either, but he was clearly very flustered with the way the game was going, besides his colleagues' and his performance.
Admittedly, I lost touch for the last 4 or 5 years (since his move to Brissy and the Broncos U20s), so he could have taken a turn for the worse attitude wise, but I do think the money and/or "bad company" has had a terrible influence in him.
Of course, based on what I've seen of late, I absolutely do think his attitude needs adjustment, and said as much in my post. It's in fact quite concerning, because it appears his coach is enabling him (judging by his words in the media).
This is where I believe Bennett would work wonders to knock him down a few pegs, and it's such a pity we didn't hang on to him, or were able to get him back, because he would be the best partner Milford could hope for imo.
Skill, singular. Unless he has another hidden talent we don't know about yet. He doesn't run as well as Kodi and he doesn't have a passing game. All he can do is kick and yell.
Repeating the same fallacy over and over, doesn't make it any more true, but by all means... keep it up.
