Maybe the reason Maranta keeps getting picked is because we have a similar situation for our 2nd tier cap that Penrith and the Roosters have had. especially given the injuries we have had this year
Only if a player plays a certain number of games though, isn't it? We haven't had anyone from Qcup in the backline yet this season, and only Oates from the U20's, have we?

So Im guessing the consensus is that Cronulla have been going well because of Carney and in spite of Robson ! It's hard to understand really as when speaking about Cronulla the role of half back is seemingly having little to do with the teams performance yet when speaking about the Broncos it's vital ! The combination of Carney and Robson has, in my opinion been the reason for better structured performances not the individual brilliance of Carney alone. This opinion is not surprisingly shared by Flanagan and the supporters at Cronulla.

I appreciate this section of the site is about the Broncos so I will refrain from further comment. Instead I'll head over to the Rugby League Talk section.

in what may come as a shock, I agree with you. to me, Robson plays a similar role for Carney that Wallace played for Lockyer. Carney is best when he can pick his moments to run and get involved. Robson eases the pressure on him with a reliable kicking game, solid defence, and organisation around the ruck.

Oates is counted in the first tier cap - he's apart of the Top 25.

Players outside of that who have played this year...

Jarrod Wallace
Jake Granville
Nick Slyney

and if he plays the rest of the year...

Lama Tasi

what have I missed? Why wouldn't Tasi play for the rest of the year?

He's been woeful since the Intrust Grand Final and from what's been reported is playing off the bench as a forward.

Jeepers Pete, he must be going badly if he can't displace Maranta from the team.

Purely a precautionary statement. Knowing our luck, he'd probably break his leg in training and fail to play a game.

If Tasi plays the rest of the season, that will take up a fair bit of the second tier cap. At least that's my understanding.

For once, I am actually confident we'll win, and by a decent margin. If we don't, there will be hell to pay.

Seriously, look at that Sharks side FFS. If we lose to that...

It was my summary of the Sharks team wasn't it?

We are talking about the Sharks team that is sitting 5th on the ladder despite missing Gallen & Gordon for half the season, right?

I wouldn't be so confident that we'll beat the Sharks to be honest, their line-up may not be start studded without Gallen, Lewis, Fifita, Ryan.. but they've been winning games, we haven't.

I'm nearly certain we will lose. Both teams are even as far as quality players, in fact an argument could be made that the sharks have the more quality team, plus they have loads of confidence, we have zilch

Our forward pack looks quite strong despite us missing 3 forwards from Origin.

They have Carney who is in great form so they will score points, we have Prince, Wallace, Norman and McCullough all playing like retards we won't score points.
