What does anyone think about challenging the grading of offas tackle to a grade 2 ?

I would give him a 2% chance at best of getting a downgrade.

just had a think about it cause he wont risk missing any more time if they give it a go thats all
 
Way too risky to contest, just has to cop the 3 weeks. To be fair, it deserves at least 3 weeks.

The issues with the Titans are in the DNA of the club or really lack of it. What are they? What makes them special or attractive to fans?
Are they a Queensland team - colours, players and attitude say no.
Do they represent their region with diehard local supporters? No
Are they a fun team to watch for a family night out? Not usually.

Initially had hopes for another SEQ team but at this point enjoy watching them burn themselves down repeatedly.

As much as prefer a team in Perth reluctant to abandon GC to AFL.

Not sure about a private consortium... last private sports team ownership on coast ended in the loss of licence.

Why not open it up to members as shares with a leagues club taking a minority interest as a second revenue pool. 1000 people (especially businesses and famous Gold Coast people) paying $5000-10000 each for a 51% share overall as 'platinum members' who get discounted tickets and 'discounted advertising' to make it the people's club. The those 1000 bring their family, friends and employees and before u know it you have a full stadium of mostly fully paying customers and merch flying out the door at slightly discounted rates (vs discounted at end of season by whoever can be bothered buying it). Need to be inclusive to regions are GC for southern Brisbane and Queensland. Also find someway to make it an iconic Gold Coast experience at games for the tourists too.

Change colours and branding to have more Queensland feel and start a no d***head recruitment policy even if it hurts for a couple of years and stop poaching from other Qld teams, instead focus on bringing GC locals and QLD players home from interstate or Super League. And fire Tallis and anyone else with a toxic attitude (cough Hayne). Then aim towards an exciting playing style. Hire the walker bros for attack coaches. Might not win much more but people will enjoy their games (winning is less necessary if people have fun watching them try). Even as everyone's second favourite team (lot of people like holidaying on GC) will increase channel nine exposure and start snowballing. Like a more educated plan but if they just keep doing business as usual and failing on and off the field, might as well send licence to Perth.
 
Wayne building up the bench forwards at the right time .
Shame JOffa threw a spanner in the works . Esse x 2 , Joffa and TPJ all coming into good form .

Gave them a taste of 1st grade early season . Peaked - dropped - rejuvenated- unleashed .

Moga showing more each week . Who says he can`t pass ??
 
Titans have numerous problems.
Branding and fan engagement aside, their roster is serviceable, but Hayne was a gamble that is not paying off for them.

Biggest issue they have is the coach. Henry didn't accomplish much at NQ with a better roster, and has shown little aptitude at the GC either.
 
In regards to Henry he seems to be a good tactical coach... I believe he was an assistant for qld origin before Michael Hagan took over and from memory it was Henry who was the brain child of the attack and tactics for a large portion of Mal's tenure.

His issue appears to be man management and he is probably best suited to assistant roles... but I believe his recruitment moves were largely successful at cows and titans as well, excluding hayne, but feel that may have been an upper management decision rather than Henry actively chasing him
 
What do the Titans expect though really. They are a bunch of rejects, with the exception of Taylor nearly there whole team is made up of overpaid players that no one else wants.

Add to that the sign up flogs like Gordon Tallis that was a legend of the 'rival' (I use that term loosely) to use against us in some weird way, yet the only reason he is there is to try and get back at Bennett due to this weird obsession he has with him.

Just on this, why has no one in the media called this for what it is, I mean I cannot think of another occasion that this has happened. When else has a legend of a club become an ambassador for a rival team that they have never played for? It would be like Hindy becoming an ambassador for Penrith. It's just fucking pathetic and bizarre but because all of his mates are in the media no-one says anything.

The Titans deserve everything the get. At no point have the tried to gain a connection with the community they represent (unless you call ripping off local tradies a connection) and have moved from a recruitment strategy of signing NSW rejects to signing Broncos rejects.

I had an argument over the phone with the 4th dude from the Triple M morning team (not Marto or Ed or the chick, the other guy that chimes in. Brendan???). It was in the midst of the drama with Bennett not wanting to release Milford to Origin, and Marto was using that and his marriage breakdown to smear Bennett. I rang up and basically said everyone needs to stop listening to Kent and Tallis because they're both on an anti-Bennett rampage and this dude just goes "Hey I know Marto, he doesn't listen to anyone, he forms his own opinions", to which I replied, "okay, did he source this information himself from Bennett, or did he just hear it how the rest of us did, via the media channels?". "I've known Marto for years and he's his own man, blah blah blah". And after I say we'll agree to disagree and thanked him and hung up, they called me back and asked if I wanted to speak on air. WTF?

They all have different reasons to hate Bennett in the media.
This is my opinion on each one:
Tallis - benching in North QLD and the neck injury, has allowed bitterness to overcome him.
Paul Kent - I actually think he doesn't have an agenda as such against Bennett, but that the anti-Bennett agenda gets him "kudos" with the NSW crowd and more viewers/clicks.
Matt Johns, Andrew Johns etc - Newcastle, they see him as abandoning them in their hour of need and contributing to the downfall of the club. (Maybe he did, but he has 2 F**king disabled kids to support and clearly with hindsight his marriage was on the rocks, he needed to go back to Brisbane for personal reasons. Interestingly I've never seen Buderus bag Bennett and he was a player/staff member at the time)
Ben Ikin - Son-in-law caught in the middle between a family break up. I've never seen him say anything against Bennett, but there was a time there where he didn't stick up for him.
Phil Gould - I don't think he has an agenda against Bennett, other than he might be a bit jealous of him?
Brad Fittler - Complete moron, does not think before he speaks.
The Triple M team - See Paul Kent.

If Wally Lewis could get over his complete anger and hatred of Bennett I'm sure the others can too with time.
 
Moga would have been a great keep , he is starting to live up to his potential. Still a work in progress but we a definitely loosing out.
 
Moga will end up a good player, thanks to wb's dedication, to him as a centre, but it will be Newcastle that reap the rewards. We got plenty to replace him though. With offa suspended, it will be interesting who gets the bench spot. Maybe fai ?
