[Round 23, 2021] Broncos vs Warriors

Listen to billy slater interview Sean o Sullivan. He kept referring to the warriors as “we”.
Well Sean would say that, he plays for the Warriors. And, if I have the right interview, Billy was talking about working with Xavier Coates next year at Melbourne.

That last try.

How could you not tell that was Coates’ hand? It’s not like they are the same skin colour.
Can't comment on Fox, but the Nine commentators called it a howler. It looks the other way around from this angle, but it's too fast to tell. In freeze frame as we saw it on TV it looked like we were dudded, but had it been two years ago, the attacking team would've got benefit of the doubt.

Sometimes it's the other way around. Like that downtown ruling against Mark Nicholls on Friday night that Bennett said he couldn't understand. The refs got that 100% right, but what is more interesting is how often they let it go. I saw the exact same infringement after a Milford kick today, with nothing said. Maybe there's some kind of leeway given in Rugby League, but I can tell you that's a major penalty every time in Union. That's why kickers always sprint ahead after their kicks to put everyone on side. Unlike Milford, who puts up a bomb and then licks his lips thinking about his next Big Mac.

Was there a six again for the whole game? There didn't seem many. Such a better game to watch when they put the six agains away
I think we got one or two on the first tackle like usual. Also the dickhead who presses the noise buttons kept playing it after the try music went off.

Also that "Oh no, oh no, oh no no no no no" Tiktok song keeps being played when the Broncos make a mistake. They are attempting to humiliate the Broncos despite being the home team?

Posted the same in the live chat, but we deserve a lot better in our sport. It's almost as if they are aiming for controversy, but I know that the aim is simply more tries. IF they are able, they aim for a tight game.

That aside, I am proud of the Broncos. Milford was a defensive liability coming in without playing there on the left for so long. I think we lacked direction again. I don't think Milford knows what plays he wants a lot of the time.

Kennedy was not good tonight. Sorry, Huge, but he was pushed back several times and made no impact in defense. He really doesn't understand how big he is.

Niu is so raw. Just needs to attack the ball and not try to be so flashy. I would love to see him sniffing around Haas' shoulder more often.

Levi made great impact when he came on. Turnip is a good tackler, but man, Kobe is boss!

Herbert J. Farnworth is awesome. He could learn to pass, that is true, but he does put in every single week.
Mmm,
RK 30min 116m 42pcm 15t 3mt 1 tb 0 error
Fleg 47min 131m 60 pcm 22t 1mt 1 tb 0 error

Wasn't terrible🙂

Anyone else notice a few of the guys had black circles on their backs when the jerseys were hitched up? I'm guessing it was from cupping. Flegler and Bull were two I definitely noticed. Didn't think it was still "a thing".

Fox were filthy about it. Cronk was praising them for getting it right only
for the screen to show try - at which point he was in disbelief.

It’s back in vogue at a few teams by the look of it. Saw it on other players last weekend but can’t remember who.

Great game of footy, soured by that deadshit Perenara in the bunker.
That prick needs to be sacked.

Each week im seeing more and more im liking about this team, particularly the younger guys coming through like Cobbo and Riki etc.

Good win fellas.
He already has packed his bags, dumbbell

One of the biggest things I took out of the game was the fact Milford was smiling havent seen that in a long time.
I do really think we need to try a new fullback and I'd be going with Herbie and keep Cobbo in the centres. Get Herbie running off Haas and Flegler offloads and it could become dangerous.
Get a centre who's a centre in to set Oates up properly even Arthur's would do the job.
Bullemor is a must keep moving forward.
Cobbo is going to be a gun
Herbies goal kicking i was expecting good but didn't expect that.
Next year is looking bright

I could have remembered wrong but I thought Billy asked Sean “how do we get back into the game”.
Either way **** Billy slater

Can I claim corruption even after we win? FMD we just must be sooo inlucky for the incompetence to always fall in our opposition's favour.

How about when we are about to start off a set with momentum, and a tiring opposition, only for the bunker to call a stop to play because their kicker was suspected to be hit late. Technically the video ref can do so, even if there was no actual stoppage in play, if it's worthy of a reportable offence. Except we're not given even a single replay. Just the on-field ref saying "reviewing late contact...."..... "you want a penalty, here?..... "oh, play the ball here".... carry on, except the Warriors were just given 30 seconds to get their breath back. Anyone still think the video ref isn't pulling every single string?

Or how about the try that was a no try but only because the ref blew the whistle. Much to the glee of the video ref, it looked 100% like a Broncos try, except while deciding which Bronco grounded it first, they are able to deny it on technicality because the ref supposedly blew the whistle while the ball was still alive. How fucking convenient. I've never once seen that happen, but I guess the Broncos are just that unlucky that it's the first time that has happened in my 30+ years of watching.

Judging by the way Riki and someone else got around him after the game, it wouldn't be unbelievable he'd come back.

Not sure what to make of Nui or Isaako at fullback. Very similar players. Great foot work, but both struggle defensively and in support play. Fragile under the high ball and do not like returning the ball venom. When Hass is our best kick/chaser, thats a real worry.

How much better do the forwards flow with Levi. Save the cash for a 9 or 1 but not much chop on the market in our price range.
