I'm struggling to recall a game that was more unwatchable than last night's from start to finish. The only saving grace was winning the second half.
You sound like the ARU.

Oh no! Broncoshq have chosen there next scapegoat, was bound to happen now McC is out. Are yous seriously picking on Nikorima, majority of yous were saying no to ash in favour Nikorima a week ago. I mean are you going to say drop Roberts, Gillett and Boyd, because those 3 players were just as bad if not worse than Nikorima. **** it was a weird game we lost by 18 points calm the **** down Hahahaha

The result last night takes me back to 2004 when the Broncos hosted Canterbury at Suncorp. it was a huge game with a big crowd and the Broncos were just completely humbled 46-18. It had a similar sort of feel as well. It wasn't a complete disgrace...just a timely reality check of how far the team was from being a premiership force.

Brisbane suffered a similar loss against Canberra in 2001 (Dell's final home game). Right now, I get the feeling the Broncos will follow a similar path.

I get what you're saying. But what's worse 18-0 or 52-34? Watching the opposition run riot is hard to swallow.

Was very hard. Until we bought it back.

- Wet footy
- Soul destroying first tackle
- Two tries from direct incorrect call from the ref
- Some absolute luck
- A team down on spirits

I think to come back to 34 points deserves far more respect than BHQ majority is prepared to give today.

It does help in my head that I truly believe Bennett forced the team into a corner so he could have a loss.

If it's true about Bennett and we come good next week then he really is a madman and a genius

One bad game. Sky is falling. This thread is worse than the game.
No point glossing over it or pretending it didn't happen. Maybe if this was an isolated incident. But twice in a month, against the same team, is a bad sign.
Even Brad Arthur isn't happy - if he's unimpressed with their performance, how should we feel?
I'd like nothing more than to be proven wrong come October, but our desire was not there last night.
We'll struggle to beat the reserve graders running around for the Cowboys next week, let alone the comp, without desire.

Thaiday not thinking, for that matter Boyd or Milford is worse. Milf is expected to lead, regardless of his age, and Darius, thaiday because oftheir age.

Thaiday acts like a goose and sometimes plays like one too, yes he should be using his experience and leading from the front, but it's not something he seems interested in doing lately. It's sort of expected now, there is a reason he was dropped from the origin side.

Milf tried hard all night, but I can imagine it's pretty hard to influence things when your captain is setting the example by throwing loose passes, knocking kicks into touch in our corners, refraining from tackling and carrying on like a 3yr old after every tackle.

Darius is expected to lead because he has the C against his name.

Was it wet out there? I was on the field before the game, didn't feel like a wet track. I don't think we could say conditions played a part.

This. It's the only explanation.
Or contractual dramas etc. His head was not in Lang Park.
Sorry, when was the last time you saw Boyd showing any desperation? He has been doing this all season, and this is absolutely his MO.
The lackluster kick returns, the whingeing slow play the balls, the long distance passes to Moga or Oates for a return, subjecting them to chasers right in their face, when he could have got at least an extra 10 meters forward if he ran the ball with purpose, etc...
When is the last time you have seen him save a try, or actually do everything in his power to save one?

He has a good pass selection in his typical sweep play, he generally organises our line well in defense, and he improved greatly his media persona, but his attitude and dare I say, effort... stinks, with last night being the absolute low point.

He could've shown courage and leadership during the press conference by putting his hand up for his disgraceful performance, but instead he goes on about how he didn't see much wrong with our effort and performance, especially in our first 20 minutes... seriously?

BTW, despite Bennett's nonchalance, he definitely showed concern about the result so close to the finals, when he said that it would be a concern if we carry our baggage with us. Let's see what the mettle of this playing group is...

It pissed down for plenty of the day, they had to change boots at half time, and their jerseys were see through from the water.
